Breathing - Breathlessness
Oh well, my first
Cardioversion
lasted less than 1 hour, last year, so now on the route of ablation, which, I myself am not keen on.

Waiting For Ablation
6 weeks ago I had a successful
cardioversion
but sadly it lasted just 20 days before I went back into AF.

AF back 6 days after Covid vacc
I'd been in NSR for over 3 1/2 years following a
cardioversion
after 9 months of persistent AF, but I woke for the loo at 3.30am on Monday and found I was back in AF - which is so far persisting. Sigh! My first thought about the trigger was that I was dehydrated.

I was put on amiodarone although I was very worried about it,because I was told it would help with a forthcomoning
cardioversion
,whilst I was told this had been successful,I am not sure whether I have gone back into AF and wonder whether I have to continue taking amiodarone if an ablation is the next

stopping Amiodrone
Hi There, I’m looking to come if amiodrone after 8yrs as I have severe fibrosis. After a recent CT scan.Seeing lung dr soon also.im now waiting too see cardio dr but all he has offered in the past was an ablation.which I refused as I don’t want a 50/50 chance of it working or end up having multiples.ive

Contemplating ablate and pace
I've been lurking this forum for some years now. Less so when I'm happily in NSR, but more so, as now, when things go off the rails. I'm almost 75 and have been fighting AF for about 15+ years. From the first diagnosis, all sorts of toxic and scary meds (Tikosyn in recent years which has actually worked

Longstanding Persistent AF
I have been listed for a
cardioversion
next but my real worry is my heart rate and I wonder what others here think or if you have had similar experiences. My echo showed a slightly reduced ejection fraction 45-50%, but considering I was in AF when it was done then that is not surprising.

Ablation waiting times
My local hospital don’t do ablations only cardioversions. My Arryhmia nurse said she would refer me and when I called and asked the secretary I got a letter back saying I don’t know if you are aware that the other hospital has really long waiting lists even just for a consultation and then another waiting

Support please 🙏
At my wits end now. Hoping to get a little reassurance from this amazing group of people. I had a catheter ablation on 16th May first one and have now developed atrial flutter. Which I understand can be common. I have had 2 cardioversions in the last 10 days which both lasted 24 and 48 hours. I'm back

A few dumb questions
A
cardioversion
is meant to put us back into NSR and therefore regain that 20%. But what about ablations and pacemakers? 2. I understand that AF generally causes the heart to beat faster than normal and that this can make people feel ‘tired’. What do we mean by ‘tired’?

Multiple Cardioversions
Another question for all. My EP wants to do another CV since the first one on 5/7/24 was not successful because of their screw up. Of concern to me is having another CV so close to the prior one. It would be 5-7 weeks between them. Has anyone had multiple CV that close together and what kind of

Post Ablation breathlessness
Hi, My husband suffers from persistent AF. He had an ablation on 30th April. He has recovered really well and is back doing his part time job. From what I have read on this forum he is doing a lot better than some and I keep saying to him that his heart is still recovering from the procedure, but

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
I had my 2nd catheter ablation 4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus
cardioversion
, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing well.

Ablation trade off?
I’m on pradaxa and had a
cardioversion
last year that didn’t help. I haven’t been on any AF meds but am scheduled for a catheter ablation in two weeks. I’m still very active and don’t notice the AF much except for some general tiredness.

Permanent AF, decision to do nothing
Try
cardioversion
, see what happens and consider ablation only if the
cardioversion
works and brings a great improvement of quality of life (because my case is not even worth the risk) I choose for the
cardioversion
, I know I have few success rate and it won’t be forever even if it works.

72 hrs Post Ablation
I am in normal sinus rhythm but I won't know for some months if it has worked as my Consultant does a
cardioversion
after an ablation which I know does put meback into NSR.

My A Fib story
So Afib was diagnosed and I had a
Cardioversion
. I was also peeing for England which was apparently the kidneys flushing themselves as a reaction to my heart. So I am on beta blockers, also on statins as I am now in an at risk group and a blood test revealed high cholesterol.
