I was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrioid cancer five years ago. I went through chemo treatments: carboplatin and taxol. I even had IP belly washes of taxol. They are not doing these any longer in the US. Sadly, my cancer reoccurred six months ago. I was cancer free and in remission for five years. The

Hair loss on taxol
Yesterday I finally got my first Taxol infusion! Everyone at the cancer center was kind and helpful. The nurse I was assigned to was a young man, the only man I saw working there at all. He was great at explaining everything. I was "pre-treated" with hydro-cortisone and benedryl. I've had so much

Chemo for recurrence easier?
I'll be having

chemo for my first recurrence, which is the same chemo I had initially. I was wondering if those of you who have been through it found the second go-round easier, harder, or different from the first. Thanks for sharing your experience. It really helps.

Good morning beautiful ladies 😀 This week I started my Taxol and Herceptin cocktail. Being my cancer mutated from HER2 low to HER2 positive with progression to liver this seems like the most head on approach. This is certainly a drastic change from what I was experiencing on Ibrance and Letrozole

Rads to spine scheduled
I had an appt at the Rad Center (over 50 miles away) this morning. I don't remember what it's called, but it was for a scan to set things up for radiation for the pain in my lower back. So now I start weekly Taxol IVs at the cancer center on Wed. and have radiation this Thursday and Friday and then

Impact of stopping and starting Niraparib
Hello everyone I am stage 4 ovarian cancer. 8 rounds of
Carbo
taxol
and full debulking surgery Feb 2022. Just wondered what the impact was of interrupting Niraparib treatment. I started Niraparib 200mg in June 2022 then increased to 300mg in September.

May be doing IV chemo for the first time. Need tips - really freaked out!
Hi, so I’ve successfully avoided doing IV chemo since 2019. But due to bone mets I just had hip surgery and the pills I’ve been on are not working. I was told by the surgeon 2 days ago that I need systemic treatment asap or I’ll die. I’m having a petscan tomorrow and depending on how it looks, I’ll

Clinical trials
Hi, looking for advice on trials, please. I was diagnosed stage IIIc in Nov 2020. Debulking surgery, then 6 cycles of taxol and Carboplatin - the latter 3 with bevacizumab. Followed by 18 months of Olaparib which then stopped working late last year. At the beginning of this year, I started on Caelyx

Weekly Taxol And permanent drain
I was fitted with a permanent drain for ascites 2 weeks ago, following a recurrence of HGOC in August despite a ned PET scan at end of July. Firstly I wondered if any of you lovely teal ladies have experience of managing these drains? I seem to be accumulating ascites so rapidly I need to drain everyday

Feeling low. Wind out of my sails
Update - Saw doc this morning and I was hoping that the Enhertu would be working after the 4th cycle, but markers went up +289. Now I am at 2130 (15.3) and the general tumor markers are up almost 4 pts to 56. He said I could do another round of Enhertu and I just said, look, just over a year now and

best treatment after Xeloda?
I was diagnosed with MBC in Feb 2022 with bone mets. I am HER2 low ER positive. I have been on kisquali, Ibrance, Faslodex, and lastly 4 rounds of Xeloda. Nothing seems to stop my progression, Kisquali sent my liver enzymes sky high. Ibrance/Faslodex progression was slow and markers rose. Xeloda
