absorbing calcium and nutrients
it's hard work trying to absorb
calcium
and nutrients because there is that many foods that block each other from being absorbed like phytates and oxalates and other things when eaten together, there is even phytates in alpro milk that I take for
calcium
, I think I need a
calcium
supplement.

calcium
how do people know that they have
calcium
that's required daily 1,200mgs,I don't eat dairy, I have alpro no sugars, and alpro yoghurt no sugars, you would have to stop in all day counting
calcium
, measuring yoghurt a bit messy wouldn't a
calcium
supplement be easier.

Coronary calcium channel score
Is statin prescribing linked to Coronary
Calcium
score? In late 60's my recent Angiogram was fine but had a CCS score of 25. From what I've read, Statins do not eliminate existing plaque, but stop it getting worse.

things blocking calcium
I was talking to a nurse at the royal osteoporosis society and I asked about phytates and oxalates blocking
calcium
absorption, and she said that they don't block all the
calcium
, anyone say different.

High Calcium score
Hello, I was diagnosed with unstable angina last April, and had CT Angiogram and
Calcium
score scan. Results came back that I had severe blockages in 3 arteries and a
Calcium
score of 525 which put me in the highest percentile for a 69 year old woman. I had my angiogram and angioplasty in Sepember.

Calcium - forms, doses, timings
The tablets are
calcium
carbonate. I looked up
calcium
citrate and it says there is only 21% absorption compared to 40% absorption of
calcium
carbonate if latter is taken with a meal which I do. So I don't know if that will make a difference?

Thyroid meds with calcium?
I am having a very hard time fitting in
calcium
(two 500mg doses), iron, and magnesium, all of which I need and have to be taken apart from each other. I also take Pepcid (for gastritis) 30 min before dinner. This can interfere with absorption of all of the above.

Been advised by a fellow runner to try a supplement of magnesium, zinc and
calcium
. The Onco has no objections. Are there reasons no too? Thank you.

PROLIA
I had my
calcium
checked before the prolia shot. It was 9.0. I just went for a CBC and my
Calcium
dropped 8.5. Along with my Kidneys, Liver, and Protein. Hence I take
Calcium
and protein daily for 22yrs and never had them drop. Thinking Prolia did it!!

Calcium D3 Supplements
Are any of you diagnosed with Osteoporosis taking supplements,
Calcium
, D3, K, etc. even though blood tests show normal range? I have been advised it is not necessary to take supplements if blood tests normal. Too much
Calcium
may increase risk of other health issues.

My calcium level appears low within bone profile blood tests. Are these an accurate representation I wonder?
My concern is that when my
calcium
is tested via bloods, it comes back as being borderline low even though I’m taking 900mg
calcium
citrate per day and ingest another 800mg via dairy products every day. So at 1700mg per day I would expect blood test results to be in the very good range.
