when I last had a full blood count, I got the results back in a folder and a lot of things were below range, but the gp said not to worry they are ok,and my serum calcium level is below low reference limit, I have got osteoporosis now because my testosterone has never recovered, I have got some calcium citrate 500 should I take them.

Please work with your HP. Ask them what you should worry about and don’t jump into taking medication or food just in case it might interact with your treatment.

The “normal “ range listed on the forms are based on “healthy “ averages. The cancer and treatments will definitely toss you out of the ranges.

Try food first - it is absorbed better. Bony fish (sardines) is the best source. Low calcium is dangerous. Tell your GP.

HelloI had a bone scan last year and found I now have osteopenia. My Oncologist said to start taking Calcium with vitamin D over the counter.

I got a bottle at Walmart.

Equate brand ( walmart brand)

I take 2 tablets daily.

I also take Alendronate Sodium Tablets UPS 70mg once per week. This is prescribed by my Oncologist.

Bottle I purchase Make sure Citrate not Carbonite, that could cause kidney stones.
