No more treatment due to Coronavirus
Hysterectomy Sept 2018 plus carboplatin for 6 months I had a recurrence 6/7 months later then carbo/
Caelyx
for 6 months. 3 very large tumours after my 3 month CT scan. After 3 more months the CT scan revealed a shrinkage of more than half but still 3 large tumours.

Any thoughts?
Seeing oncologist next week to decide between oral cyclophosamide, rechallenging with Carbo
Caelyx
( recurred 6months after Carbo so declared platinum resistant, but that was 20 months ago), or Cisplatin and Etoposide (aka the Rotterdam Regime).

Will I get a PARP
I have just completed 2nd line therapy Carbo/
Caelyx
. There has been reduction in tumours but it doesn’t constitute a partial response. I was hoping to go on Niraparib but I’ve read it’s only available if you’ve had a partial or complete response. I won’t see my consultant for a few weeks.

Back from London, tired, but hopeful
So after yesterday morning when I woke with the feeling that the ascites was back and therefore the
Caelyx
and Avastin were already not working and feeling my sell by date was getting nearer, to yesterday afternoon with someone telling me the opposite you can imagine my mood is great.

Great holiday....then CT! Everything is growing 😥 Caelyx/Carbo in progress now!
The lady next to me is on her 2nd Carbo/
Caelyx
. I’ve been nervous about the
Caelyx
because I know it can be harsh. She said she’d been ok, just nausea during the first week. I know a few of you ladies are on
Caelyx
, or about to start.

Pendle99 : Farewell to Penny
Since being diagnosed in November of 2017, when she was only 48, she has never been out of treatment, suffering through Carbo/taxol and Avastin, then Carbo/
Caelyx
, straight into weekly taxol. I met her through this forum when we discovered that we both lived in Bath and had the same Oncologist.

Scared
I was told I might have another five years if the carbo and
Caelyx
work enough, so I might reach 56. I have some ascities again now, small but there, and just came out of hospital having suffered a severe bout of diarrhoea and vomiting.

Low neutrophils - hopefully helpful advice!
I'm on Carbo/
caelyx
for first recurrence and have always had low neutrophil counts, it was 1.0 before my second lot of chemo for this recurrence so I only just scraped through with getting my treatment.

Feeling Thankful!
I Had my 5th infusion of
Caelyx
/Carbo last Thursday, and thankfully still not doing too bad. Fatigue has been a bit more intense this time round as has the Diarrhoea. but I am coping ok so far.

Update
After the shock and trauma following my oncologist meeting three weeks ago, where he told me that carbo/
caelyx
hadn’t worked for me (1st recurrence), that I was platinum resistant and there wasn’t much hope left, I went nervously to the meeting at the Royal Marsden and met Dr SB.

Good News!!
Hope this helps anyone starting out on
Caelyx
as it does sometimes take a while to kick in. Hope you all have a great weekend, I know I will! x

DREADFUL FATIGUE
I am suffering terribly with chemotherapy fatigue, I'm on carbo and
Caelyx
this time for recurrent OC. I'm struggling to get out of bed, missing appointments and seeing friends which I need. I dread becoming bed bound again. This fatigue is so debilitating.

I promised you an update on my progress with carbo/
caelyx
............ I am currently half way through treatment carbo/
caelyx
for 1st recurrence, and today was my clinic appointment for my CT Scan results. I was very anxious, but it is good news, my pleural effusions have gone as has the ascites.

Help, advice or comments please
In January this year I had my first recurrence and started carbo/
Caelyx
. I was quite ill throughout but completed the course in July. Since then my CA125 has started to climb.
