Hello everyone,

I have a question about the side effect of caelyx? Does anybody do experience having swelling after 1st infusion ? My mom was a bit bloated and had on and off pain before starting this regime but after the infusion her left and right side swelled and now tightened after 7 days from her first infusion. The scan shows moderated ascites yesterday. I was wondering if Anybody with ascites has good result and what side effect with this chemo?

how long it will take this chemo affect? I am reading here that it might take longer with caelyx?!? apart from on / off stabbing pain, she is not breathless and have no fever but a bit feeling unwell and has pain in her sides where there is swelling .. I am not sure if she tries draining now after infusion the ascites could be drained or it would be more jelly shape ?! Any thought/advise would be appreciated.

Hi Sara, I’ve just come across your post so I’m sorry for responding late. How did your Mum go with the Caelyx? My Mum had her first Caelyx treatment 9 days ago & was drained from Ascites on day 7. I really hope it was successful for your Mum. 🙏🥰
