My CA125 has dropped 400 points after my 2nd infusion of Caelyx/Carbo. I worried when it rose after the 1st infusion and panicked it wasn't going to work for me. My CNS said dont worry but its impossible not to. Hope this helps anyone starting out on Caelyx as it does sometimes take a while to kick in. Hope you all have a great weekend, I know I will! x

Wonderful news, Lyn! Have a great weekend! 😊 xx Gina
Great news! How are you doing on carbo/calyx....?
Hi - I am tolerating it reasonably well, fatigued the first week and a few mouth ulcers but nothing major. x
That is such great news!
I hope this continues as the pattern and you tolerate the drugs without too much trouble.
I gave in to fatigue for the first week, but snapped back to life for the next nearly three good weeks.
Bravo!
Hugs,
Laura
Thank you Laura. I am the same fatigue the first week and then ok for 3 weeks. I have had a few mouth ulcers as well but nothing major. Hope you are well. x
Brilliant news xx
Happy for you!!!🌻🌸🌼🌺
What encouraging news for you ! Long may it continue.
Caelyx may be my next option so it’s good to hear this .
That's an impressive drop, so pleased for you and glad the side effects aren't too severe. I also find 1st week after infusion the worst but look forward to the 3 good ones. I have just had 4th infusion & CA125 going down each time & midway scan showed stable disease
Thank you - I hope you continue to do well. x
So very pleased for you. Enjoy the weekend.
That's brilliant news .x
Great news. Keep it up. Gwen Xx
This is great news Lyn!! You must be delighted! Always happy to hear good news ☺️ Keep smiling and have a lovely weekend,
Liz Xx 💕
Absolutely fantastic, keep going x
Can you tell me how much it rose the first time? Mine just did that and it did make me worry although the chemo nurse said the same thing to me--mine just went up more than what I think a normal rise would be---any info welcome! oxoxxo Judy (and CONGRATS! Quite a drop!!!) ooxoxxo Judy
Hi Judy mine went from 38 to 1080 in 8 months I was on "watch and wait" The CT scans were clear until the one at the end of June, however the findings were inconclusive but oncologist recommend more chemo, so treatment began. My oncology team all say don't worry about a rising CA125, I do however wonder if it were them would they be so laid back? I doubt it. Good luck with your treatment plan. x
Thanks Lyn! Always worries! They stopped Carbo Gemzar after three cycles as scan showed progression (Gemzar was just horrendous for me) and now Carbo Calelyx but no guarantees that will work either. Had a rise after the first one so in a bit of that worry till the next scan in October. Rather be in your boat! oxoxoxoxo
My CA rose after my 1st carbo/caelyx, it went from 850 to 1080. Don't worry it will start to come down soon, my CNS said some people dont see a drop until after the 3rd infusion. Good Luck 🤞
That is great news Lyn. I have just started on Carbo / Caelyx. First CA125 test tomorrow. So now Iwont be too worried if the count has gone up. Thanks for sharing and all the best for more “drops” to come. 😊🦋
That's great news. Stick with it, Lyn, if you can. xx. Maus
That's fab Lyn. Impressive numbers. Keep going 💪🏻💪🏻💐😘
Great news. I’ve just had my second chemo, just Carboplatin and I seem to be tolerating it okay so far 🤞🏻
OMG brilliant news 🙏
Hello Lynn,
good to read your CA125 has dropped after the second infusion. I am due to see my oncologist tomorrow, 26th September. I've had one infusion of Carbo/Caelyx since my first recurrence in July. I'm experiencing pain in my abdomen that wasn't there before the treatment and I'm dreading the result of my blood tests tomorrow. After reading your article I'm inspired not to panic. However that's easier said than done. I wasn't expecting improvement after the first infusion but I wasn't expecting more pain, therefore I'm scared.
My CA125 was only 46 in spite of the CT scan showing a 5.6cm and a 2cm tumour plus some cancer cross the top of the peritoneum. Surgery was not an option and I was warned the chemo may not work. How do you other brave ladies stay positive and manage to enjoy your lives because I just can't? I have a wonderfully supportive husband, family and friends and I'm ashamed of myself for not being more optimistic. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
My love to you all,
Angela xx
