Another Withdrawing from Dopamine Agonist Question
Largely due to a 20mg
Buprenorphine
patch I suspect. My first try was cold turkey. After 4 days of no sleep, I gave up when I started falling asleep while I was walking. This second attempt has been much different.

My Gabapentin Dilemma
Do I skip the Pregabalin and try a narcotic like
Buprenorphine
, if my doctor will prescribe it? Sorry to be so wordy. Hopefully I haven’t rambled too much. Any input or suggestions would helpful as I approach this crossroad.

buprenorphine and dry mouth leading to difficulty swallowing
hello - since taking sublingual
buprenorphine
I know I have a tendency to have a dry mouth - I have recently noticed feeling like my food has got stuck in my throat and worrying that I might choke.

Switched from Methadone at 10 mg to Buprenorphine 10 mcg
I spoke with the neurologist, and he told me the
Buprenorphine
is prescribed today as the first line of opiate defense to combat the RLS. Due to the holiday, I refrained from beginning the Butrans patch until last night. I was up almost all night.

Whirly Whirly bird.
Now if my GPs agree with my request I then get to see Dr Fracknell and if he agrees to prescribe either Methadone or
Buprenorphine
he presumably can give me an initial prescription on a trial basis but in the end I’ll still need a GP in my home town to continue providing me with that prescription.

Looking for some guidance please
I know about the groups guidance to wean off slowly but am concerned about getting through this as things are already so bad and when I tried last fall I was going bananas. 2) I never hear of anyone in the group using hydromorphone yet I hear of people using many other types of opioids such as

Buprenorphine SL vs transdermal
Lastly, does anyone know if
buprenorphine
is any better than methadone in terms of cognitive slowing and depression? Thanks in advance for your replies, Paul

Depression and RLS
I'll reintroduce you to our good friend
buprenorphine
(and other opiods) that may be a solution some have been looking for. Check out the link below. The results for treating depression sound promising.

Tramadol augmentation, what next?
Sue has suggested
buprenorphine
but unfortunately that is only available to opoid addicts and also in New Zealand the drug here is modified for that use, so my pharmacist said it wouldn't work as it should as the chemistry is altered. Can anyone speak to that?

Buprenorphine Patches
I’ve just started my second week on
Buprenorphine
Patches. So far they’ve not helped with the pain but have caused a lot of nausea. It’s a low dose 5mg to start so maybe an higher dose will be needed ?

Doctors awareness
As you know I am having great success thus far with
buprenorphine
and I still take 900mg gabapentin (down from 2,100). He wants me to also take an iron tablet at night. Sue, did you say iron tablets don't work if taken in the evenings with gabapentin??

Gabapentin success
My lovely doctor and neurologist in Greece are not allowed to prescribe
buprenorphine
so they persuaded me to try gabapentin. I had failed on Pregabalin some years before. I felt drunk all the time and put on a lot of weight very quickly.

Help - kindling?
My neurologist tried to replace it with
Buprenorphine
last week, and I had a reaction to the molecule (awful sleep paralyses), so now I'm back on Tramadol 2x100mg ER + 50mg fast action doses. He is thinking about putting me methadone.

I’m confused…
I also used
Buprenorphine
patches for a while for another condition but it didn’t help the RLS. Thanks.

Some of life's treats!
Has anyone had an occasional glass of wine when on
buprenorphine
?I take my low dose
buprenorphine
at 10pm plus gabapentin (I find wine has no side effects on gabapentin). I am slowly reducing the gabapentin.

Update on first visit with Neurologist
So have also got a prescription for
Buprenorphine
/naloxone. I am to keep taking the iron supplement. We discussed the rate to coming off pramipexole, and she said that I would need trial and error to find the level that worked for me.

Pain Relief
The Consultant (after 3 x Nerve Root Block Injections) prescribed:- Tramadol Pregabalin
Buprenorphine
Patches Recently hospitalised overnight and told I may need Emergency Surgery but due to my Heart Problems the Consultant was very reluctant to do anything so I was sent home with Oramorph!

update on prolotherapy
I do hope this works as even the
buprenorphine
is not having any effect on the tugging pulling electric shock feelings in my legs now.

I’ve recently been prescribed
Buprenorphine
Patches for Severe Spinal Stenosis. ( Heart Failure also so can’t take traditional pain relief) Is anyone who’s had experience of using these patches able to advice me how long they take to give relief.
