I weaned off Ropinirole, but i have nothing for the withdrawal symptoms, i have been asking for Buprenorphine, but they would not prescribe it, a secretary to one of the neurologists at Coventry Hospital told me the reason was they could not prescribe was i suffered impulse gambling and hyper sex

Now i have nothing to control restless legs, i am on my fourth day, i do not sleep one minute, can only stand 10 minutes in bed, then get up for 20, goes on like this all night long and unable to lie down in day, fall asleep standing up and hit my head on computer when sitting fall asleep in bath wake up with cold water legs going crazy fall asleep eating breakfast

Have telephone appointment with doctor who sent out Nortripyline and said increase melatonin, on Monday

We have already advised you that melatonin makes RLS far worse for the overwhelming majority. No doctor should be recommending it for RLS.You are in severe withdrawals. You will get no sleep or rest for days.

Who told you Buprenorphine could not be prescribed if you had Impulse Control Disorder on Ropinirole?

That is not correct.

You will need a replacement med.

You should have been prescribed gabapentin or pregabalin. Or Buprenorphine.

Definitely instruct solicitors to bring a medical negligence claim against your doctor for the Impulse Control Disorder AND negligence in getting you through withdrawal.

Show them the RLS-UK website and the withdrawal schedule.

The latest NICE guidelines recommend Pregabalin as the main drug to use for RLS. You need to remind them of this and get on it asap. Start with low dose and gradually increase as needed. Another thing to do is to change your surgery. Thier response is dreadful.I've been through exactly what you've experienced and it was the Buprenorphine that saved me.
