has anyone any experience with long term antibiotic treatment for bronchiectasis particularly Azithromycin.

Every time before starting Azithromycin, do we need to give the sputum culture to check for NTM. Some of us are asked to take Azithromycin during winter months. Just wanted to know whether NTM check needs to be done every time before starting Azi. Thank you.

I have been diagnosed with copd and bronchiectasis for many years approximately 10 with my consultant saying its chronic. However I recently had a CT scan and received my results saying everything looked fine. Am I missing something? Surely if I was that bad would not something show on the scan ?

Hi, I have a chronic cough, probably due to bronchiectasis, as well as mucus trapped in my throat by a postnasal dropper. Lately I have a strange taste when I cough, has anyone experienced this?

Hi all, was diagnosed with bronchiectasis and chronic asthma in may. I had had a cough since Christmas and was given several short courses of doxy, which would work and when I stopped chest infection would come back.

I’m usually quite laid back and rarely get so anxious but the CT scan that confirmed my Bronchiectasis also found an abdominal tumour and I’ve developed an aversion to appointments even though I seem to live at hospitals these days !! Thanks again

Hi Just been prescribed eff NAC to replace carbocysteine .. just wondering if this works almost straight away or do I have to run with the carbocysteine in tandem for a short while? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated 🙏

This is my first post and I am a little worried. I saw a consultant recently who told me I have bronchiectasis.I have had asthma all my life and also aspergilosis. My asthma is very controlled and not giving me too much trouble with my current inhalers. The consultant has now prescribed Relvar Elipta

Hi I now have Bronchiectasis on the back of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Consequently I’ve had chest infections this winter which I haven’t really had before.

Hi, While on Venetoclax I developed frozen shoulder and other muscle and joint pain. Additionally I have plaque build up in my coronary and carotid arteries. Would Crestor or Pravocol plus Zetia be most suitable considering my muscle condition? Thanks

I sometimes have blood in my sputum. Often it stops after a day or 2. Does anybody else experience this? What do you do when it happens?

Help. I've taken 75mg levothyroxine for 23years now & I'd estimate around 12months maybe longer..( I am 57yrs old BTW) ...changes in bladder control. Definitely change since I had pneumonia in May 2024 ...I now have bladder cramps since 26th December 2024. I drink lot of water and only x2 cups coffee
