I also have broncholectasis, and I had to ask the Doctor for help to deal with it. I was given Acepiro, it is doing a good job. Of course what works for one does not always work for someone else. Because I have two other problems, COPD and Asthma , I looked further afield , I found that a small Humidifier sitting on a table beside me , has made a tremendous difference . I am now bringing up that sticky phlegm, by evening, great! . I am breathing better .

No don’t be scared. You have to make a few adjustments to life and then carry on. First join the asthma and lung conditions thread on HU. Plenty of bronchs on there with a wealth of knowledge. You need a consultant who specialises in bronchiectasis who should refer you to a respiratory nurse to help you expel any mucus. Possibly prescribe some meds to help thin it too. If you do have a lot of mucus look up active cycle of breathing on YouTube. Try to avoid people with colds. Should you have an infection you should get a sample into your GP and get some antibiotics. Asthma and lung conditions produce a very good leaflet on their website. Mostly come back and ask questions on HU.
