Selective amino acid restriction therapy (SAART)
This is a follow-on from something that came up in the "
Cysteine depletion sensitizes prostate cancer cells to agents that enhance DNA damage and to immune checkpoint inhibition"
post. Some here may be unfamiliar with the idea of selective amino acid restriction. I have never been tempted to

Recurring Pneumonia from Breast Cancer radiation treatment
I was diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer and went through two lumpectomies in April 2022, and 21 radiation treatments in May 2022, ending early June 2022. By the end of July 2022, I knew something was not right with my left lung with constant coughing, shortness of breath. In fall of 2022 I was diagnosed

PET scan ordered
Saw my Surgeon yesterday for a routine follow up and this was the CT scan. I have just hit my 5 year mark from R UL wedge and R LL lobectomy. He said he WAS NOT WORRIED. However, needed to do a PET Scan to rule anything out due to the radiologists report. He has never done this in the past. He said

Revisiting the Bob Beck protocol for cancer and other illnesses
Hi everyone, I thought I’d post this here for anyone interested in checking out this particular technology. It’s not a traditional therapy, (although most of what I post here isn’t~) Having been diagnosed stage 4 since 2020, I’m currently on my 4th line of treatment now (Xeloda, Herceptin, Tukysa

Immunology clinical trial vs. Radiation?
Surgery in 2009, biochemical recurrence beginning 2017, and my slow-rising PSA is now up to 0.63, although my overall doubling time has remained pretty consistently over 2 years on average. My MO has a clinical trial in Phase I using a Listeria monocytogenes based vaccine, which supposedly seeks out

I keep thinking of additional questions to ask here in addition to my previous posts about Jakafi. When my oncologist suggested that I start this drug after trying to take HU, I suggested Besremi? He said he can't get it although he's tried several places? I'm confused? Is it not offered in

Clear Cell reoccurrence update 3
Hi everyone, I wanted to update you all on todays experience with Professor Jayson at The Christie. Not only was he a lovely gentleman, he gave me hope back, told me I have options. He wants to go through my case from the beginning, discuss it with the MDT and come up with a plan. Things he is thinking

Hey Y'all
Just stumbled across this site. I'm a MBC Thriver!! In July 2017 it was confirmed that I in fact had HR+ HER2- BC after years of mammograms and ultrasounds. I always knew it was cancer that was causing my issues. At 39 most OB/GYN play it off as hormone changes. What was the final straw was I lost my

Breast cancer
Hi folks, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year. My first surgery removed a lump and 2 lymph nodes, the second was to take more shavings. As a result of that it found more cells which led to having a mastectomy . At my follow up appt yesterday they've decided to put me on Letrozole

Who has ESR1 how are you doing
I just developed the ESR1 mutation and went on Faslodex and switched to Kisquali. I was wondering if anyone has this mutation and how your meds working. I’m only looking to hear about ESR1 stories and if it impacted your treatment or progression and how you are doing. If you do not have the mutation

PC invasive to bladder
Hi,It’s long time since my last post even though I still visit the forum daily. Few week ago my dad took CT scan and the result said the prostate cancer cells are invasive to his bladder. His oncologist also said because of that, he got blood in his urine. It happens quite often now, his urine turns
