Air driven vs. oxygen driven nebs
Hi guys! I ended up being admitted to a different hospital from my usual local one last week and they had to ring up my normal consultant. She asked them to change my air-driven nebs to oxygen-driven ones (which is what I usually have when I'm in), although I wasn't hypoxic. Does anybody have any idea

Prednisolone Problems?
Has anyone else found that Prednisolone actually seems to exacerbate their symptoms? I felt an exacerbation of my copd coming on - increased breathlessness, pain on breathing, so having been in hospital with an infection recently, I thought it best to use my rescue pack at the first sign. Three days

Possible pneumonia, advice anyone please
Hi everyone, 5 months ago or so I left my window open over night and woke up early in the morning with sharp stabbing pains in my chest, causing breathlessness, shallow breathing and tightness. The room was extremely cold and therefore made the link. I saw my GP who told me it was related to my asthma

How long does it usually take to get. Over a bad attack?
Hi, last week I knew I was getting yet another chest infection felt really yuck but battled on as I was afraid to stay off work. Last Tuesday I went to Drs after work, was immediately put on a nebuliser while dr decided wether I was a blue light ambulance ride to hospital. To this point I was still insisting

Portable nebulisers
Hi , I use a nebuliser at home, which is issued by the hospital . It's fine for use at home but runs of the mains and is big and bulky. Can anyone recommend a portable one. I am also going to a music festival in August and would need to take a nebuliser with me. thanks Carolyn

Prednisolone causing depression?
Hi, Im back again. I ended up in hospital yesterday as I woke up coughing, wheezing and having difficulty with breathing. The doctor has continued my prednisolone along with antibiotics and today I feel miserable, down and keep crying. Could it be the shock of the prednisolone? I was given 30mg yesterday

Portable neb or not?
Took my nebuliser machine back to the hospital for a service.Been thinking of getting a portable one so I asked the tech guys, those who do the full lung function test in the big plastic box. After a bit of research the main man suggested just getting an inverter for the car battery and using the one

My dad...
I don't know what to do. My dad is being brought to the hospital as I write this. He's having a hard time breathing. A week ago he was operated for tube feeding as he can no longer swallow. He's in bolus feeding of ensure. Now he's having a hard time breathing. We had him on a nebulizer everyday as well

Side effects of 3 years of steroids and abruptly stopping
After getting pneumonia I was put on long term steroids of 30mg a day. That was nearly 3 years ago. I also have chronic ashtma. My weight has ballooned . My face all puffy eyes sunken . Cuts don't heal etc. I then ended up on vitamin c & d tablets . Montelukast at night . Anxiety tablets. A nebuliser

Nebulizer for home use
Hi does anyone here have a neb for home use? If so how did you get it ie from gp prescription special asthma clinic or the cons at the hospital? Many times I am told I should have a neb at home but the docs dont help me with anything. So I would like some advice on how others got to their nebs at home

Hi guys, I went back and read my post from just getting out of the hospital about three weeks ago. Thank you all for your support and nice posts! I'm about three weeks out of the hospital now, and it's been pretty crazy. I don't even know how much I've paid in doctor's co-pays and prescriptions. It's
