Bacteria based drug delivery, now this is something I have been following for a while
Still not applied to clinical trials for prostate cancer, more advanced for other kinds of tumors but still a new field. The idea behind it is simple: let's infect cancer with a bacteria that can infiltrate it and release a payload! Salmonella seems to work very well! https://www.mdpi.com/1999-4923/

Dear All,Since I live on the other side of the pond then we have a very different health service structure but irrespective of that fact I am very interested in the views of the forum on the cancer treatment which is available to me and how others may have found it. My story: father and brother both

New to biologics - don't feel particularly well.
Evening all. Hope everyone is managing ok in this cold weather 🥶. So in the last 2 weeks I've had to take rescue doses for my adrenal insufficiency, had 2 emergency hydrocortisone injections (each one administered by work colleagues a week apart) as not caught early enough and generally felt off.

Psa doubled in less than a month
I had 10 infusions of Doxytaxel. I started reading about the consequences of CDK12 and was concerned that since I have this mutation doxy was not a treatment of choice. After giving time for the PSA to settle I had a test which showed that it doubled in close to 3 months. In preparation for a CT and

Shingles Vaccine
I have RA and am currently taking hydroxychloroquin, methotrexate and amgevita. I’m trying to work out whether at age 61 with a compromised immune system, I will qualify for the new shingrix (shingles non-live) vaccine on the NHS? Does anyone know?

Just had My Monthly Injection of Firmagon Monthly Labs PSA is Up <0.06 to 0.09
That’s pretty modest. I’m assuming I will wait till next month to see if it goes down. Kind of stressed with this new diverticulitis and blood bowel thing AND Moving. Got results of psa after I saw My Medical Oncologist so haven’t discussed modest jump. Even with bleeding from rectum the gastroenterologist

Meridian Viewray is toast. Can Cyberkife machines use MRI the same way?
Just was unenrolled in a Phase I clinical trial using the Meridian Viewray machine at Dana Farber. Meridian went belly-up in the summer, and the hospital (Brigham and Women’s in Boston) will cease using that machine in October 25th. Looking for substitutes. Thinking that Cyberknife machines can also

My Cancer Reality Check
I am having one of those “I can’t believe I have cancer and I am having to go through all of this” moments!!!! Feeling a bit low with all of this chemotherapy stuff, more doctor visits, side effects, up and down 🎢 emotions!! You guys get me. Right? Sometimes it is hard to be strong and positive!

Nucala
On Friday I'm due to have my 6th Nucala injection. The first 3 have been amazing. I felt a new person after battling with Eosinophilic Asthma. After my 4th & 5th I have not felt quite so good and now 'doubt' is beginning to creep in. I notice occasional back pain and aching in some joints. My Peak

CT scan
I started on Ibrance and Anastrozole roughly in June 2023. Took it for 2 months and had to go off Ibrance for 5 weeks for surgery. Back on it for a month. Has a CT scan which showed more bone Mets and increased size. A node in lungs which was not seen on previous scan 6 months ago. Discouraged to think

SBRT alternative
So I've been trying to decide on what treatment I wanted to do and finally decided that I'd go with SBRT. Well unfortunately the MRIdian SBRT is going away at the end of the month. I reached out to Dr. Kishan to verify and this was the response "Unfortunately that is likely correct. We will be doing
