I had a
brain
haemorrhage
some 7 years ago. Husband, son and family told it was touch and go, and the only slight chance I had of survival was to have a 5 hour brain operation which would hopefully save my life. It did!!!! A very very long road of recovery with many many MANY pitfalls.

My nights are getting pretty bad now. Do you guys take medicine throughout the nighttime? It would be okay if i didn't have to pee every 2 hours. Also, i have no tremor but I do have wearing off, freezing up, swallowing issues, balance problems, speech issues, can hardly walk when off the med. Does

I think I just found the answer to fitness and weight gain. Since my Dbs success I've been hitting the gym 3x weekly. I actually gained 30 lbs but unfortunately it's been 50/50 muscle:fat according to my bmi scale. I just haven't been able to walk enough to keep the fat down. Today I purchased a

Migraines from viral meningitis
Dear all, I had viral meningitis in October 2012 and its nearly 3 years after now! I have chronic migraines from the VM and have had for over 2 years. Off and on. Sometimes more on than off. I am trying botox injections from my neurologist every 3 months as well as daily propranolol and endep. Just wondering

What to expect from DBS
My doctor is recommending DBS. I'm terrified. What does it feel like? How long is recovery? I live alone and I'm nervous about being discharged too soon, as hospitals seem so anxious to do these days. Do you have to be awake or do they knock you out?

Mobility Scooter
Afternoon all. I had to come and tell everyone of my new found freedom on my mobility scooter. I had used them a couple of times from Shopmobility at shopping centres, and my husband has nagged me to have one of my own which I had resisted until a couple of weeks ago. My sister was taken ill and was

Dog bite anxiety going in for 3 weeks now
So I got bit by a chihuahua 3 weeks ago it was a small bite through my sock on my ankle. The bite does not hurt and there is no pain around the bite, but I keep getting the worst anxiety about this bite like I'm going to die of rabies or something. I have googled so much information on this subject and

Tension headaches and fatigue
I had a
brain
haemorrhage
many years ago and I live with the results every day, but I still find it hard to cope with fatigue. Recently I have had problems at work and tension headaches and fatigue are definitely the biggest problem at the minute. Any tips on dealing with these anyone?

Alone
I'm having DBS surgery in August. My husband is not supportive at all. In fact he said some so hurtful things to me. At this point I don't even want him at the surgery. Am I going to have problems in the surgery because of the emotional state I am in. It's not gonna get any better with him. But this

DBS and infection
Hi. I'm one of those few patients you read about who developed a brain infection from a DBS operation. I now have DBS on one side only. i'm fortunate that I came out of it all right. Now I'm going to have to decide if I want to get the other side done. I think I may wait to see what type of new DBS

Shingles
I am now into my third week with Shingles and I am in constant pain. I have had all the appropiate medicines...anti viral and neurotin for pain and nothing has eased the symptoms. I stayed on 15 mg. of prednisone and just wondered if I should have raised that a bit. I did not want to have to reduce

Question re diagnosis
But have a family history that might be relevant with my mother having suffered migraines followed by a
brain
haemorrhage
in late 40s and a stroke early 50s. Her headaches appear resolved since she was put on blood thinners. She is also hypothyroid (I am borderline but non responsive to mess).

Out of the blue a brain tumour too
I had problems with balance and double vision the end of last year.. I recovered enough to go for a MRI , I just found out o have a brain tumour .. A large pineal cyst 😦. I can admit to being very worried about what is to happen next.. I find it hard not to worry when I have little information ..
