Benjamin Stecher About To Undergo DBS
I'm not posting this to start a debate about the merits of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), but I do hope we all keep Benjamin Stecher in our thoughts as he is about to undergo DBS. Benjamin was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease approximately eight years ago, at the age of 29. Since then, he has been

Chi machine?
Has anyone used a Chi Machine? A man at my church who has Parkinson's said he used to use the machine to help him sleep. (He had Deep Brain Stimulation and is now doing really well. No more tremors and his sleep is much better so it sounds like he doesn't use the Chi Machine any more.)

Shingles vaccine
I'm booked to have a Shingles jab shortly. Has anyone had this while on Prednisolone? Were you okay? Any side effects.

Do brain implants (like DBS) change your personality?
From the New Yorker Magazine For the great majority of patients, deep-brain stimulation was beneficial and life-changing, but there were occasional reports of strange behavioral reactions, such as hypomania and hypersexuality. Then, in 2006, a French team published a study about the unexpected consequences

Sinemet intake blocked by Proteins
I was diagnosed in 1992 and have had DBS surgery. At 73, I am actually quite healthy. My question deals with protein intake due to Sinemet being blocked by animal and even quite a few plant proteins, namely amino acid foods. Are the other Parkinson drugs also sensitive to proteins? Has anyone else
