Blood results- T3 levels consistent? Can I improve them?
Hello, Despite feeling overall better for some time I started feeling too regularly worse again. I suspected low T3 (perimenopause also possible). Yep, my T3 is on the lower end of ‘normal’. These are my results: TSH 1.53 mlU/L (norm 0.27-4.2) Free T4 15.6 pmol/L. (12.0-22.0) Free

Possible silly question about biotin
I've learned, thanks to all the knowledgeable people here, that supplements containing biotin need to be stopped several days before bloods are taken 👍No problems with that but what about cosmetics, shampoo and conditioners that contain biotin? Would the biotin in these products be absorbed? I wouldn't

Pregabalin and High Blood pressure
Has anyone experienced increased blood pressure with pregabalin? I know that hypotension is a potential side effect but hypertension not mentioned. I have read a bunch of people's experiences with their blood pressures going up quite a bit after taking it. I have been taking it for about 1 month

T3 clearing the body
Hello Thanks to all who help on this list. Sorry I can't offer more help, still , it seems, in some post Covid state. I tried to look through past posts to see how long T3 takes to leave the system. I think it was recommended not to take for 8 hours before a blood test. I'm going to get some

Biotin interference with Thyroid bloodwork
I am due for follow up blood work and just remembered that biotin interferes with the test results. How far in advance must I quit taking my B complex which has 100% daily requirement of Biotin? My last TSH a few months ago was .03, super low for me. I usually run between 1.5 and 2. But my FT4 was

Berberine and iron?
Hi, So glad to have found this wonderful forum! I am a 74 year female who recently started taking pregabalin for RLS. I just got back my ferritin level and it is 12. I will order some iron and would like to know how many mg is a good dose. Also, I started taking niacin 500mg daily for my cholesterol

Taking Biotin
Hello, As part of my daily suppliment intake I take the full range of B vitamins (B1-12), which includes 50mcg biotin. As I understand it, this is less than the 20mg which would affect my T4 levels, is that right? And at this dosage do I still need to stop taking this particular suppliment 2 days

Opinions Please
Hi I have just had my results from Medicheck. I followed all the recommendations, 9am test, no Levothyroxin for 24 hours, no Biotin for a week. I am currently taking 75 mg Levothyroxin, Vitamin D3, Methyl Folate & Thorne Basic B Complex. I am considering adding 25 mg Levothyroxin 3 times a week

Stopping B vits before test
Just checking, I'm now taking separate B12 drops as well as a B complex - I'm ok to keep taking these drops up until the day before a blood test aren't I? Am I right in thinking it's just supplements containing biotin (ie the B complex in my case) you should stop a week before?

Newbie and confused. Functional B12 deficiency?
Hi everyone, I am new here but I have been a member of the thyroid forum for many years. I've also just joined the Sjogren's and the lupus groups because some of my symptoms could be attributed to these though I have no diagnoses, and the Changing Faces group for my rhinophyma. I have Hashi's and thyroid

Urine/Cortisol Tests
I have now had my appointment at the endocrine clinic. The doctor was not really interested in my symptoms as I have ‘bloods normal’. He did not look at the comprehensive Medichecks blood profile only those relating to thyroid although the ranges are all good across the tests. After insisting

B supplement
Please could you advise me if it is OK to take Homocystix Plus as a B supplement? I have been taking Thorne Basic Plus and Nature's Best Vit B 12. However Vit B12 now over 500. I started flushing more and think I'm developing Rosacea . Looked online and found Niacin can be a factor in flushing. Also

I read somewhere that Niacin helps with sleep.
So, I started taking before bed. Not only better sleep, the Flush helps me go to sleep.

People with high blood levels of niacin, (vitamin B3), may be more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than those with lower levels
[i]I have a confession to make: I take vitamin supplements. Why is this a confession? Well, because research has indicated for years that dietary supplements are a waste of money for most people. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2325423-vitamins-and-dietary-supplements-are-a-waste-of-money-for-most-people

Hello all, I've been lurking for a while and just want to thank you for all the advice you give on here. I'm so impressed by the time and effort you put in. I've been tested loads of times over the years for all sorts of things including thyroid levels and everything comes back normal, normal, normal
