The current status on third Pfizer COVID Booster
The CDC, the NIH and even Fauchi seem determined to run behind the curve of the best available information. But must face the facts of the need for a booster after six months. Perhaps it will become available by September? In the meantime on a personal note, my wife recovered smoothly and progressively

CAR-T follow-up at City of Hope for Prostate Cancer to Bone
They pulled me back into City of Hope hospital with high Iron levels after a CAR-T discharge from hospital. Treatment started working, lowering my PSA from 60 to 50, but high Ferritin (Iron) hit 6000 indicated t-cells could start attacking non-cancer places it shouldn't attack. Dr calmed it down with

A non-blog update
Sadly, I haven't been well enough to write a proper blog post that's up to my standards, but am functioning well enough to give a quick update. It's been a 1,013 days since my original prostate cancer diagnosis, so I missed the magic milestone of 1,000 days to do something special. It's also been about

2WW, here we go again
This really is the worst part of it right!? Id happily take all the side effects from the stims again over this. Sadly, as expected, our 2nd cycle ended with a BFN. My bleeding started around 7/8 days after transfer and only got heavier. We started cycle 3 straight the way again. I couldnt wait, i

Ongoing updates--back pain, MRI, and AMG 509
I had MRIs done on the Lumbar, Thoracic, and Cervical spine. I ended up doing it at Jefferson Methodist Hospital. It took close to 4 hours and was an ordeal, but I managed to stay still and get very good images. The technician said he has never had anyone get through that long without moving or quitting

Zytiga with Dexamethasone or with Hydrocortisone?
Hello, I really appreciate your continuous sharing and supports since I joint this forum. We have many worries that we don't know who to ask, so we'll bother you again. The question is: My father should keep using 1000 mg zytiga + 0.5mg dexamethasone or switch from 0.5mg Dex to 30mg hydrocortisone. As

Zytiga with hydrocortison
Dear all, My dad just took a test of cortisol level at 7am and the result’s 1.5nmol/L (the lab’s threshold’s 133-537nmol/L.). His doctor asked him take Hydrocortisone 30mg/day (20mg in the morning and 10mg in the afternoon,) instead of Prednisone 10mg prescribed before. However, there is no info when

Try a Little Dexie !
If you are taking Prednisone for any reason see if your doctor will substitute Dexamethasone instead. they perform the same function but the Dexamethasone also can restore your apatite, relieve moderate pain, and generally make you feel better..It's worth trying..

Dexamethasone 0,5mg or 1mg?
Hi all, My dad started taking 1000mg Zytiga + 10mg Prednisone in March 2021 but after 3 months, his PSA still increased from 4 to10. His doctor asked him continue Zytiga + Prednisone for 1 month but we don't think it work and would like to switch to Zytiga + Dexamethasone. However, we wonder if he should

New study may help explain low oxygen levels in COVID-19 patients
A new study published in the journal Stem Cell Reports by University of Alberta researchers is shedding light on why many COVID-19 patients, even those not in hospital, are suffering from hypoxia—a potentially dangerous condition in which there is decreased oxygenation in the body’s tissues. The study

Comparison of systemic corticosteroids
This morning I accidently opened this site I'd bookmarked some time ago. As occasionally there are questions about the action of different medications I thought it would be of interest, although its focus is on treating skin conditions. It compares cortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisone, methylprednisolone

I have had ITP for 5 months and no medications have helped....Prednisone, Dexamethasone (very temporary) Revolade and Rituximab. IVIG ???
Has anyone here been having IVIG infusions on a regular basis (perhaps every three weeks) rather than having a splenectomy?

Feet Neuropathy with Docetaxel
I am in Day 12 of my fifth infusion on Docetaxel. Chemo Crash is over for this session and my "Fog" is starting to go away. Since my first infusion, I have had very mild neuropathy in my feet - even though I wear ice sox and mittens during the infusions. The neuropathy has been very tolerable and it

Zytiga &Dexamethasone or what?
Dear all My dad started taking Zytiga with Prednisone 2.5 months ago and he would take PSA test (and maybe other test) in next 2 weeks as per his doctor’s prescription. We are a little bit worried if Zytiga & Prednisone don’t work for him because he feels passing urine is more difficult than previously

Continuing discussion of Adaptive Theory-- Why does early chemotherapy result in lower response rates to Lu-177 and immunotherapy??
Greetings FPC warriors, In the spirit of continuing cujoe's look at Adaptive Theory, I raise the question of whether early chemotherapy plays a role in creating resistance. Recently, posters/bloggers have been showing some of the early results reported from PEACE I trial, but the question remains as

Almost 5 mos. in post-thyroidectomy
The good, bad, and ugly thus far for me: Good: Had Graves, eyes FREAKED out immediately after thyroidectomy, got put on dexamethasone for 1 mo., and thank God, they're doing better after that.
