Difference between Sinemet and Madopar (Co-beneldopa)
A couple of days ago someone on this site asked me what the difference was between these two after I had posted that Sinemet made me confused whereas Madopar was almost miraculous in its effect. I'm afraid I can't find the original question but the difference is that Sinemet is ldopa combined with carbidopa

Recommended questions for neurologist?
I'm taking my 92 year-old dad to his neurologist today. Last time the neurologist had told me that my dad's flavor of Parkinsonism might be PSP-- I think because my dad can't look up. I will ask if PSP can be confirmed. Is there anything new in medication or treatment I should ask about? He's already

Fatigue/spasticity
Had the day off work today, went and got some Lyrica just for something to do. I don't even bother with my neurologist these days, just go to a GP and tell him I have AMN. Very high spasticity/fatigue week. I've been not taking Modafinil for breakfast and instead taking it around 2pm. It is worth

Parkinson's and Exercise question
Advice from the experts. I have a question regarding exercise and parkinson’s. I read everywhere how good exercise is for people with parkinson’s. Every time I start exercising for a few days, my symptoms get worse and it appears to me anyway that the disease appears to progress. I will get new symptoms

“emergency room” PT 2 - amantadine, benadryl and tremor dominant prognosis
I have just returned from second visit to my neuro in three weeks. I want to update my fellow parkies and especially those that have been following my adventure. After three years no drugs, I recently experienced trial run (about 1 month) let’s say of first sinemet and then, after stopping sinemet

Fatigue
I've written about fatigue plenty before. But I never tire of bleating away, moaning about my condition. Fatigue, I hate it. Lunchtime, on Monday, I was in the elevator with a colleague. Me - "Do you feel tired?" Him - "No". Only three hours into the day, but 15 years into daily, constant fatigue

The effect CBD has on my Parkinson's symptoms
"Adding CBD to a consistent treatment regimen gives me one to two hours of improved mobility daily. Improved symptom management is difficult to quantify with PD. But in general when I can get five to six hours of sleep the same time of day, and am not titrating my Sinemet, Amantadine, or Deep Brain Stimulator

Hello All, I am an advocate of my father who has PSP. I have been reading everything that I have found in relation to PSP. He has done a couple of clinical trials. One with CoQ10 and one with TPI-287. Neither seemed to have much effect, but as you know its hard to tell because he has good days and

Hard weekend...Amantadine withdraw?
WOW... I am thankful the weekend is over.... You NEVER EVER hear me say that. We took Terry off Amantadine on Tuesday morning and by Friday morning he was completely clueless as to where he was, what he was doing, what was going on. All he wanted to do was sleep. He wasn't able to walk, eat, talk.

Hello everyone, I noticed that in the last few weeks my mom keeps wanting to clear her throat, and she said that she feels that there is a lot of Saliva accumulating in her mouth. recently she stopped Amantadine for 2 weeks, but she started Amantadine back again 6 days ago. (which I think it might help

sinemet cr
I'd like to hear from those who have tried sinemet cr. I just started taking it this week along with regular sinemet and amantadine and it seems to be helping a great deal.

Warning, this post contains links. Mods, if this is not allowed, please don't ban me, just delete this post. I always thought the problem was the varicose veins in my legs. I was 36 at the time. I'll get them stripped sooner or later, I thought. Legs got heavier and heavier, I started to fall over
