Avonex

I have been using Avonex since the beginning. I know there is other meds, but this works for me. I am proud that I am still working. I drive a great big yellow school bus!! Sometimes it's hard to walk to my bus and climbing the steps, but I keep on going because I love this job.

After 2000 I started taking Avonex with the same hope, then after switch to Tysabri which I just discontinued this year of 2018, and now I'm back on Avon again. I continue to have difficulty maintaining my concentration.

Back in the olden days we had the A B Cs Avonex Betaseron and Copaxone, lucky you you have a lot more to choose from these days, BUT YOU and only YOU have to Choose which one and You have to take it as prescribed.

Any advice would be appreciated.Had Avonex pen injection last night,best advice is to keep taking paracetamol every 4 hours to help with temp/aches & pains.Made mistake last week & stopped meds after 8 hours,flu like symtoms for rest of day & felt awful.fine next day.Here’s for a lovely summer with long

Took my 1st Avonex pen injection last fri night week at 10.00pm.Took paracetamol & Brufen 1 hr beforehand.Woke at 3.30 am shaking & shivering.Pains & aches for all of Sat.Feeling better Sun dinner time.Took My 2nd one Fri night,set my alarm every 5 hours to take the above tabs .Felt way better 2nd time.Crucial

So after 3 doctors I had to figure out myself that i was having major issues with my non steroid nose spray. I went off of it and went back to Nasonex. What an improvement! Just wondering if many members have been on Avonex injections once weekly.Have decided with advice that this is my best choice.Glad for any feedback.Hope everyone has a good day😀🍀.

Already got off avonex cant take shots..so thinking of quiting meds if she wont let me stay on aubagio...any thoughts would be appreciated 😊

I started taking the Avonex injections per doctors advice. I took them for 9 months and my insurance was cancelled. At 10,500./mo. I could not afford to pay out of pocket. After 7 Months I was enrolled a in a free drug program and I was back on the Avonex faithfully for over a year.

I'm considering switching from Avonex to Plegridy. The Avonex I inject once a week and for the two days following the injection I'm dealing with flu-like symptoms, extreme fatigue, and increased pain...the side effects of the Avonex.

I’m on low dose of ramipril and suffer from gord ( acid reflux) and chronic sinuses. I was on nexium for my reflux 40mg and I got bad side effect so now suffering wit that coz it all interacts with rampiril. I have read somewhere Rhinocort can elevate bp? I want to take antihistamine for my allergies

I do take Avonex, antidepressants, thyroid meds, hypertension meds, baclofen, clonipin, just started a statin, and a bladder med. until November 2017 I was an elementary teacher for 20 years 🙁.

Hate going thru this again 🤬 Thru the years I have been on Copaxone, Avonex, Ribif, Tysabri, Tecfidera, and last ten months Aubagio. Well I guess I will start the appeal and go from there 🤷🏼‍♂️ Wish me luck and prayers 😉🐾🐶🐩🙏Ken

Switched DMD fron Avonex to Extavia. Overall tolerating change pretty well. The biggest side effect is injection site turns vivid red, no heat, no itching, no swelling. Is this a normal side effect?

Just picked-up a repeat prescription from my GPs for a Nasal Spray - Mometasone (50micrograms). I always use the same pharmacy and have been dispensed 'Nasonex' against the previous 2 prescriptions. 1st diagnosed with RRMS 2009 have used Copaxone Rebif and now Avonex. Have been told by doctor that we are now looking at Secondary Progressive. He is not yet changing Medication and I have next appointment in Jan 2018. Currently on Avonex. I feel that Avonex is not a correct Medication.
