Three years post treatment
I attended hospital last week for my final round of testing related to my clinical trial; CEASE-AF, three years and two months after the completion of treatment. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02695277 The trial involved a mini-maze followed by a catheter ablation, this was being compared

Thoughts on Ablate AV Node and Pace
Anyway, since then I've been taking the Digoxin which has slowed my heart rate and I have now received a letter from my long-standing EP suggesting the next likely course of treatment is that of
AV
Node
Ablation
and the upgrading of my Pacemaker to a CRT-P Device.

What are the typical costs to a patient for a catheter ablation?
I live in the US, had an ablation in July and am coming up on the 6 month follow up, and have no signs of any issues at all. So far, a success. However, I was just reviewing my health care costs for the year, and I was shocked by the final charges for the mapping and ablation procedures. I have been

After 2 radiofrequency cardiac ablations, still have atrial fibrillation Afib
Hi all, it would be great and grateful if u could share your experience to me. This is my case. I'm a 47 yrs old guy with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (irregular and fast heat beat), which is found in early 2018. It is caused by my thyroid problem and it's cured already. But Afib is not leaving. After

It seems to me that most people here have had one or multiple Ablations of one type or another.
I have had PAF and Flutters now for over one year. I'm 71 years old and my Cardiologists have never recommended a CardioVersion or Ablation of any type here in the Toronto Canada region. The last time I met with my main Cardiologist he told me CardioVersion is next to useless and Ablations are not far

Flecadine and weight gain
Does this medication cause weight gain? I have read on Google does but I wanted to hear it from you. I had a catheter ablation in July and started taking flecadine with metapropolol right after. I know I slowed down my regular exercise while I was healing but I didn’t eat that much out of my normal diet

Vagus nerve damage
Hello, I had a cardiac ablation for svt in January of 2020 and unfortunately havent been the same since. I've had acid reflux like symptoms that were extensively tested and found to be hypersensitive esophagus nerves. I've also had other symptoms like chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath

Ablation of the nerve endings of the heart ,(ganglionated plexi)
Has anyone taken part in a research project or have any experience of standard catheter ablation for AF versus ablation of the nerve endings (ganglionated plexi)? Or have any thoughts about this? My 4th catheter ablation was last Friday so 6 days ago now at Hammersmith hospital. I took part in a blinded

Ablation Date
Just thought I'd write to voice my admiration for the NHS. I've just been given a date for my second Cardiac Ablation - 17th November 2020. The first procedure made me symptom free for almost 5 years before I started getting arrhythmia again - so in my case, it clearly works well. I was told the waiting

First AF Ablation this week
Greetings, Long-time lurker, first time poster here. Although I'm in the U.S. I've found this forum to be very helpful. Just for background, I'm 46 y.o. male in good health with no chronic conditions besides paroxysmal AF and atrial flutter. Cardiologist and EP feel that AF/flutter likely precipitated

I have permanent AF without obvous symptoms - should I take up an offer to have catheter ablation?
My first post here. As my profile says, I have had permanent AF for a long time but it is without obvious symptoms. I dont seem to have the kind of problems that many of those with AF suffer from - I have no trouble climbing stairs or with other activities of normal living. I have been running most

AV Node ablation & CRT Pacemaker
Hi I'm another newbie. I had a heart attack 20 years ago at the age of 55. It left me with atrial fibrillation and over the years I have been treated with medication, 2 pulmonary vein isolation ablations and 7 cardioversions. I don't seem to have many options left to me know and I have recently been

Catheter ablation for atrial tachycardia
Hello, can anyone tell me of their experience of catheter ablation for atrial tachycardia in either the left or right atriums? I can't seem to find much online about it (apart from those who have had ablation for a-fib)? Also, I would be really grateful for any information anyone has relating to catheter
