Need to know which Atrial Fibrillation or Atrial Flutter before scheduled Ablation Procedure?
Atrial Flutter or Atrial Fibrillation ? Difficult to determine which it is when heart is racing 140s 180’s 200 . Will an EP study determine which it is? From my understanding, the EP study can manipulate different arrhythmias , therefore not a diagnostic procedure? 6 episodes in 8 months 5 resolved

Change in nature of Afib after ablation?
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has experienced a change in the nature of their afib after ablation. I had my first ablation at St Thomas's in London at the beginning of last November. I've been ok till about three weeks ago when the dreaded AF returned. Before the ablation my experience of AF was paroxysmal

Recording an ECG
My EP has been telling me about the apple watch that records an ECG, he then says you can download it to your phone and send it over, so it can be seen and confirmed if you are in afib or just having ectopics. As I have an Android phone and not an i - phone, can anybody recommend an alternative please

Diltiazem v Bisoprolol & Felodipine
Have ongoing (daily episodes) of paroxysmal AF - more palpitations than actual racing heartbeat. Recently prescribed Diltiazem instead of Bisoprolol & Felodipine. Anyone on this or changed to it from a beta blocker??

Digoxin low heart rate.
Hi everyone, been on Digoxin for a week or so and doc has upped my dose twice. I'm now taking 3 62.5 pills per day to find my right dose. My heart rate has gone from 130 to a low 55 so it's done the trick. My question is has anyone else had a very low heart rate on this drug. Beta blockers, tried 2 took

3 month post ablation-update
Morning, Thankyou so much to you all for your advice. I got in touch with the arrhythmia nurses at Barts. I have now been advised that they are upping my sotalol dose , however thankfully after 6 days of afib my heart has gone back into NSR overnight. Prof Schilling has now said he will do another ablation

Does anyone has enlarged liver on acalabrutinib?
I am wondering if anyone has enlarged liver on acalabrutinib. I am on acalabrutinib since September 1st. My blood tests are much improved, but I feel now more pressure on the right side than the left side. Can acalabrutinib effect liver? My spleen decreased only slightly from 21 cm to 17cm. Thanks fo

Palpitations and faster heart rate after AstraZeneca vaccine?
I have had strong palpitations and and a faster than usual heartbeat with some ectopics, since I received my first jab of the AZ vaccine. I asked the nurse about the vaccine and atrial fibrillation and she said there was no connection- I am not completely convinced however. Has anyone else had this

After 3 pvi ablations over last few years and making some changes to life and making changes to how I plan things etc, I’m still glad to wake up every morning. It’s the uncertainty about the future of it that causes me anxiety and worry, will it progress.? Will it stay the same? when will my next episode

What is happening?
I have had a very strange experience. I have suffered with AF for a number of years. Usually had 1 episode every 3/4 years and always had to be electro cardio verted. Increased in frequency to the point where it was happening every few months with the last one in Mar 20 so ended up with an ablation in

Onset of Afib
I need some advice. I had a cryoabalation in July 2018. I have been in sinus rhythm since. I went to bed last night and 2 hours later woke up with a heart rate in the 180s. Spent 5 ours in the ER. Came home and 12 hours later back in sinus rhythm. Is this normal? The only thing I changed was to a Claritin

Titrating down from Amiodarone
About 2 years ago my OH was in a catch 22 situation. At 85 he was in persistent AF with aortic stenosis with an EF of 35% and quite symptomatic with deteriorating QOL. After angiogram established there were no blockages a cardioversion was arranged to see if NSR was possible and Amiodarone started

High blood pressure is a cause of Afib
Interesting study in the European Society of Cardiology confirming that high blood pressure causes atrial fibrillation: https://www.escardio.org/The-ESC/Press-Office/Press-releases/High-blood-pressure-causes-atrial-fibrillation Previous studies have only shown an association between high blood pressure

Ablation and silent A Fib
Have just read a recent thread concerning anticoagulation and bleeding risk, and one contributor stated that another risk is atrial fibrillation episodes post ablation and the need therefore for anticoagulants even when an ablation is successful. I think this decision is a matter for discussion between
