Try be positive!

After 3 pvi ablations over last few years and making some changes to life and making changes to how I plan things etc, I’m still glad to wake up every morning. It’s the uncertainty about the future of it that causes me anxiety and worry, will it progress.? Will it stay the same? when will my next episode happen.? Will it be short.? Will it last long.???? When I’m down and fed up with my afib I think there are people in life living with far worse and dangerous conditions, living with some terrible horrible illnesses. So although Iv got afib some other not so lucky people have got much worse things to try and live with.

Thankyou frsmith, 👍

Was the last ablation successful? ..... how long have you gone AFIB free after your last ablation? ...... Or, do you still get occasional AFIB episodes?

I've had 4 ablations. It doesn't help to worry about future events that may never happen. Wasn't it Mark Twain who said 99% of all the things he worried about happening never occurred.

I've had acute anxiety, too. Sounds like you need to work on ramping yours down a bit. Try meditation (Hypnotist Glenn Harold's CD's are good) ... eating less excitatory foods/drinks (no caffeine, MSG, chocolate, soda pop). Eat clean, unprocessed meals. Engage in mild to moderate exercise. Engage in an enjoyable hobby. Take calming supplements, like magnesium (and there are many others). Drink calming tea throughout the day. Quit watching TV ... or reading material that tends to upset you . . . . .

Good Luck!

You’ve given me some good advice there mate and I thank you very much. Iv had 3 ablations and had a fourth cancelled because of the covid situation. I started taking magnesium 5 months ago and have not a single episode since.!! My ectopics have practically disappeared too. This is the longest Iv gone in years.

Agree with you. I also remind myself there are people with far worse.

Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative and don't mess with Mr In - between. Summer is coming, get your planning hat on.
