Atrial flutter
I'm pretty sure that re entrant tachycardia appeared on my discharge notes some years back when I was in cardiology ward with AF and flutter.I can only suggest you Google it and try and make sense of the answer !!
I can also remember the medics having a conflab over whether my ECG actually showed flutter?!
I was diagnosed with AFIB by emergency ..... but when I went to see the Electrophysiologist, she was adamant that I had Atrial Flutter. So, I had an ablation in right atrium for flutter.
That lasted a year ... and then I came down with what I thought I had in the first place, AFIB.
Consult with the very best EP you can find. Then .... you should get a 'correct' arrhythmia diagnosis.
In my experience, regular general practitioners and Cardiologists fall a little short in their knowledge about type and diagnosis of arrhythmia. Every time I ask my Cardiologist an ablation or arrhythmia question ... he refers me to my EP, says he not well versed in that area.
Is it worth you buying a Kardiamobile or similar device so you can check your own events? Sometimes they can't tell unless you're in hospital when the event us happening.
Hi, I found this. There's a lot of terms to look up but it might give you a start thecardiologyadvisor.com/ho... a look at the York Cardiologist YouTube channel too in case he mentions it.
I had atrial flutter two years ago. It was a terrible experience. I was told that it was straightforward to diagnose with an ECG but that they do have to momentarily stop the heart by using an injection of, I think, atropine, during the trace, which is painless and harmless. The flutter produces a unique trace pattern that looks like a rough-cut saw blade with 300 regular atrial contractions per minute.
I had “re-entrant tachycardia” when I had flutter and still get it occasionally. It’s the most common form of fast heart beat, I gather. It makes me feel very weak, anxious and unwell. A single bisoprolol tablet usually helps things return to normal.

Hi there. Not sure, but is re-entry the same as mitral regurgitation where blood doesn’t flow smoothly through a valve?
