I have had 3 ablations in 1 year finally my HR was under control then about 8 months later my heart rate went to 180. I went to the ER they shocked me and I was ok for Almost a year. Then in April 2021 this year I started to have episodes ago. I had to start taking the metoprolol again It's somewhat

Is ablation ever successful?
Have become increasingly depressed and feel totally hopeless now . Diagnosed with afib in January . Have tried bisoprolol which made me feel like the living dead, flecanide which seemed to make afib worse and now on 160mg of verapmil a day but it's not controlling the afib . I now have episodes on and

Ectopic beats 18 months after Atrial Flutter ablation

Usual dilemma: Rate or Rhythm
Am 77 years old and diagnosed with paroxysmal AFIB last Feb, by chance. No symptoms. Now taking Bisoprolol 2,5 and Tritace 5 (for BP). Have no other health problems. The cardiologist has prescribed Flecanaide 200 but I am not taking it yet. Should I try Lifestyle changes first? Can I use Flecanaide

Atrial Flutter
After two ablations I have no AF, but have developed Atrial Flutter which is constant. My Cardiologist will install a duel chamber Pacemaker for control. I am on 2.5mg Bisoprolol and Apixaban which I seem to tolerate quite well. Has anyone on here had a pacemaker fitted for Atrial Flutter? Dave

Bisoprolol versus blood pressure and anxiety.
Is lowering a high blood pressure (was 145 /90) just an added bonus while taking bisoprolol to treat mild heart flutters and 1 occasion of AF. Virtually the next day after taking the 2.5mg tablet my BP has steadied arround the 135 /85 mark and stayed low for the following days. Also will the bisoprolol

Catheter Ablation in Australia and availability under public or private system only - and out of pocket costs?
I am a fit/active 56 yo male in Canberra Australia with persistent AFIB but succesfully on 200mg amiodarone daily that has me in NSR all the time no matter what I do or eat - I have no side effects being on amiodarone at all - but this is dangerous medication so long term - the meds are not a solution

Fibro, Buprenorphine Patches and CBD Oil
Is there anyone that can give me any good advice. Over a good many years I was on a cocktail of pain medications. In the last couple I have managed to take myself off the pills but still remain on the Buprenorphine patch and anti-depressants. Because of being unsure if the patch was actually working

Following up on alcohol and Afib
The following article was on Medscape and you most likely need to create a log in, but I thought it very interesting and a good update on the recent post about alcohol and Afib on this forum. https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/950938 It's entitled: "Even One Drink Doubles Risk for Afib Within 4 Hours

How Long Does It Take For ‘Moderately Enlarged Left Atrium’ To Revert Back To Size?
Hi there, An echocardiogram showed I have a moderately enlarged left atrium that is causing my 24*7 AF. I am on amiodorone 200mg daily and no longer in AF; I feel great! Ive made lifestyle adjustments - 90% less alcohol, no endurance exercise, decaf coffee only and more sensible food choices. I will

Fingers crossed ! Sotalol
Hi all. Been to back to the hospital today and it sounds like good news. They have taken me off Bisoprolol and put me on Sotalol (40 mg twice a day). I am so pleased to be off Bisoprolol. I don't want that to put others off from taking it as it ticks the boxes (for me) regarding lowering my HR. We are

Doc doesn't want to prescribe beta blocker
My 31 year old son has developed tachycardia after getting his 2d shot of Moderna. He has been to a cardiologist who gave him an echocardiogram (no stress test) and then sent him on his way. So he finally got a primary care that started him on propranolol which is working wonders (tho he needs an extra

What happens if I can’t take flecainide anymore?
Hi. I’m 54. PAF for 15 years. 17 episodes during this time. On the waiting list for an ablation. I have been taking flecainide for 6 months. 3 months ago it was increased from 100mg to 200 mg per day. I also take 2.5-5 mg bisoprolol. My heart is working fine otherwise. No issues on the echocardiogram

A Fib and under active thyroid
Hello! Does anybody have any information on the relationship between an underactive thyroid and A Fib, please? I'm newly diagnosed with A Fib. I'm keeping it under control (touch wood) by managing my triggers. I've had a slightly underactive thyroid for some time. It's not so bad that I need medication

DOES PROMETHAZINE HYDROCHLORIDE CAUSE ATRIAL FIBRILLATION?
I take 2.5 mg Bisoprolol in the mornings and 2.5 in the evenings and 100mg Flecainide as PIP for atrial fibrillation, which I'm not getting frequently at the moment. My GP has prescribed 10mg Promethazine Hydrochloride to help with sleeping, but I've read that it can cause fibrillation and flutter.
