Is there a ārecovery sheetā on what to do/not do after a cardioversion.
had first cardioversion in December 2024, which lasted 5 days. Next cardioversion is booked for next Thursday, hospital advice was rest for 24 hours, no alcohol or caffeine, no driving. After 48 hours back to normal. Any suggestions to try and prolong sinus rhythm would be appreciated

Going into AF two weeks post ablation
hi. I had my ablation two weeks ago. Yesterday my Apple Watch alerted me I was in AF. Heart rate went to 111 and I took a flecanide. Went to hospital where they monitored me and went back to 74 sinus rhythm. Tonight the same thing has happened again but five minutes later I am back in sinus rhythm. Question

Cognitive dysfunction
Has anyone listed for an ablation under GA or deep sedation been warned about the risk of cognitive dysfunction and dementia post procedure? This is a well documented side effect of anaesthesia in the elderly, and has been described as taking away part of the brain, with permanent effects on memory,

lynparza dose reduction?
I am just wondering if anybody who is taking lynparza has had to reduce the dose due to side effects and if so have you seen any decrease in efficacy with doing so? My dad is currently taking 300mg twice daily and has constant nausea. He has tried zofran, promethazine, and the sancuso transdermal patch

Amiodarone Questions
Hello all, Dr. has switched me from Sotalol to Amiodarone 200mg daily. So I was wondering how members here take their Amiodarone. Mornings, midday or evenings? On an empty or full stomach? Together with other meds or no other meds? Thanks!

Pneumococcal vaccine
Hello everyone I recently turned 65 and was invited to get the current pneumococcal vaccine (against 28 strains, I think). Has anyone had this vaccine and subsequently had Afib problems? I had it on Friday, felt very tired, a bit shaky on Saturday and am currently in Afib in the early hours of Sunday

Laughter, the Best Medicine?
I want to relate an experience I had an hour ago. Perhaps my "antidote to Afib" has been experienced by some of you. I think many would agree that at times those of us in our 70's and 80's who are dealing with Afib find that, like God, our subconscious works in mysterious ways. I had been dealing with

Persistent AF
Hi all,I have recently gone back In to AF and just seen my cardiologist after having an echo and 24 hour monitor. The echo has shown the hearts looks OK with a good EF and moderate dilation of left atrium, the monitor showed my HR anywhere between low 70's and mid 120's with an average of 94! The cardiologist

Cardioversion of Atrial Fibrillation (AF)
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common rhythm disturbance of the heart which may cause rapid irregular palpitations, chest pain, breathlessness or fatigue. Sometimes it is hardly noticed by the patient. In such cases it is often picked up by routine examination of the pulse listening to the heart or recording

Unsure what to do
Iāve been having dizzy spells since 2022. When my doctor was on vocation in March 2023 he took to the lowest dose from 75 mg twice a day to 25 mg once a day of Metroprolol. The pharmacist helped me to to come down to the lowest dose 25 mg once a day. Since I have been having Afib issues, Just not feeling

Heart rate increase
Over time, my NSR events have lessened and been replaced by SVEs most of the time - so my Kardia tells me. I have felt ok physically with this as when I told my GP, he said it only really mattered if the rate went up considerably, and as it is always below 70, ( usually around low 60s ) he was happy.

Impaired Right Ventricular function ā experiences please
There's the hope that as my heart continues to remodel (and get over the 2 months of
atrial
flutter
during the healing) it will see some improvement, possibly to being only mildly impaired, and they've added Spironolactone to my huge drug list to help this.

What is post ablation normal heart rate
I had my ablation last week for a fib which I have been told was a success. I have felt very dizzy with occasional ectopics since but bp has been ok and heart rate between 72 and 78. Then today everything has changed. Lots of ectopics and resting heart rate between 95 and 98. Should I be worried?

Pace and Ablate
I am scheduled for a pace and ablate procedure in October. I've been on multiple rhythm control drugs which sooner or later failed, including Tikosyn, had multiple cardiofversions, and one ablation which failed, I'm told because of my huge left atrium; so I wasn't offered any more ablations. All of
