Amiodarone Questions

Hello all,

Dr. has switched me from Sotalol to Amiodarone 200mg daily. So I was wondering how members here take their Amiodarone.

Mornings, midday or evenings? On an empty or full stomach? Together with other meds or no other meds?

Thanks!

I have been taking Amiodarone for just over a year. Take it when I wake up or sometimes with breakfast

I took mine just before lunch as I found that spreading my meds across the day produced less GI irritation.

I've been on and off it for about 5 or 6 years and have always taken it just before going to bed, with my 2nd doses of Apixaban and Diltiazem.I don't recall seeing any specific instruction as to when to take it.

Thanks for all the replies! I was wondering because the information sheet that came with it from the pharmacy mentioned taking it the same way each day, with or without food, the same time every day.

I’ve been on it twice (around a year each time) & found it best for me to take with my breakfast.
