Covid Vaccine, medical conditions and allergies
I was just wondering whether anyone has taken any of the vaccines? Although I work within a hospital setting where some of my colleagues have already received it, had been sent a text by my GP stating I should book and appointment and now furloughed, I really do not wish to take it due to my allergies

PAF - Ablate or Medicate?
Hi all. I've been poking around the site for about a year with a couple comments and a post or two. I find I'm at a fork in the road with my AF journey and wanted to submit to the group for any perspectives I might not have considered. I'm consuming the wealth of data available here and at the org

Weight gain causing concern
Since March I have gained 21 lbs and have swollen feet, ankles and knees. Could this be due to taking Diltidium 3 times a day in addition to Ramipril, Moxonodine, Bendroflumethiazide and Atorvastatin? My diet hasn’t changed but I’m not so active now.

Amlodipine
Hi until recently I was on 5mg of Amlodipine & 2.5 Bendroflumethiazide. 3 weeks ago it was increased to 10mg as my BP was getting too high. Since then I have been waking up 2,3 times a night feeling extremely hot, even though the room is very cold. I have not been sweating but have to take all the covers

Atenol
Does atenolol have less side effects than bisoprilol. Or is it just horses for corses

Concerned about kidneys
I am a 47-year-old male that is 6'1" and weighs 259 lbs. Two conditions I have that may be pertinent to this are high blood pressure and obstructive sleep apnea. I take 50mg of Atenolol twice per day, one 20mg tablet of Prozac, and 4,000 units of Vitamin D. I've taken notice the last week or so that

Atenolol 25mg.... Only been on it 5 days so far for ' Angina ' symptoms... They tried me on bisoprolol first, that put me into anaphylactic shock for over 3 hours.... Now I've been on the Atenolol for the past 4 days, the only thing I've noticed which isn't pleasant at all is.... Something feels like

Flecainide and beta blockers
Is it absolutely necessary to take beta blockers with flecainide? I took atenolol with flecainide and ended up with excruciating backaches. Dr. changed my meds to carvedilol/coreg to take with the flecainide. That combo made me so dizzy that I spent two days laying in bed unable to walk. I am one

Asthma inhaler
My brown inhaler hasn’t been working very well for me, and the nurse in my practice prescribed a pink one called Fostair. It said you must read the pamphlet before using, so I have, and it says ‘do not use beta blockers with this medicine’. I’m on Atenolol 50 mg, and also to talk to your doctor if you

Felodipine
Hi. I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure for about 12 months now. I was first started on Amlodipine. Very quickly I had bleeding gums, a cough and shortness of breath. It was stopped. I was then given Ramipril and suffered the same side effects. I was then given another medication to try that

Heart Medication Side Effects
I had a heart attack and 3 stents fitted 5 months ago, and seems I have recovered quite well. Prior to this I had been on Atenolol, Pravastatin, and Ramipril for 20 years, and for 6 years suffered from perephial neuropathy, in lower legs and feet. I am now taking the above but Pravastatin replaced with

Amlodipine or Losartin?
Hi everyone, I'm new to your group. I have been taking 50 milligrams of Atenolol and 12.5 of Hydrochlorot for my b.p. for many years. My recent ekg showed my heartbeat is a little slow. Dr. Wants we to cut back to 25 on the Atenolol and we'll be adding Amlodipine or Losartin. I really need my Beta blocker

Ace inhibitors versus arbs
I am new to the forum. I have taken blood pressure medication for a number of years: 25mg Atenolol; 2.5mg Ramipril and as these didn't control BP, bendroflumathiazide was added. With the medication BP was around 145/75. My GP stopped bendroflumothiazide last year. Ramipril was increased, but BP

I think I’m a hypochondriac, I suspect they do too!
Since I was 19 I’ve been aware of ‘extra beats’, repeated daily palpitations, arrhythmia, tachycardia and quite a few episodes of SVT that happen to me. 25 years ago, I had my first long-winded & scary episode of SVT where we lost sight of how many beats after exceeding 254 bpm. I fainted and as I was

Switching beta blockers
Having changed from Bisoprolol to Atenolol 11 days ago. It keeps heart rate low but is it possible to still suffer symptoms from the withdrawal of the Bisoprolol ? Or is anything am feeling attributable to new drug ? Has anyone any experience of doing this ? Had problems trying to withdraw from Bisoprolol

Dizziness on beta blockers
Does anyone get dizziness a few hours after taking beta blockers? I am on sotalol now but have been on bisoprolol and atenolol. I thought the dizziness would be quicker than that! Also do you wake up early restless? Thank you
