Is there a link between kidney failure and aphasia?

Hi 2 years ago my husband was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and this week the Neurologist now thinks it's PSP his speech is practically non existent he can't write or type, his balance is terrible falls backwards all the time .

I switched over 5 weeks ago and have been experiencing more cognitive aphasia and adverse spatial awareness issues(clumsiness). Will these issues settle down over time? Anybody else notice this?

His aphasia seems to be worse then it was 2 weeks out from surgery. He just started speech therapy this week. Is the decline normal?

He has also been diagnosed with progressive aphasia so finding words is problematic. He falls asleep constantly. We did not get a diagnosis until we went to Mayo. We now have the diagnosis but now that we are home I don’t know who to turn to.

He is 65 , he was 64 when he had his major stroke causing his aphasia also . Thank you

Not sure what the prognosis is for aphasia although I have been promised that they will share some info with me. I feel he is slipping backwards. It was three months yesterday since the accident and I’m struggling more than ever.

I had really bad aphasia after my TBI and pretty much forgot about it as my speech etc had improved but difficulties with maintaining coherent speech was exposed when I was 'talking to camera' for the videos.

My husband was initially thought to have Aphasia, but after further investigations, he was diagnosed with PSP 2 years ago at the age of 57. His speech is now very poor & he is getting more & more unsteady on his feet.

His doctors asked him to cut all caffeine, increased all meds and now he is left with some aphasia and extreme fatigue. Thanks! JM

I have wrotten aphasia most of the time and problems forming new memories. Iose balance often and although I am typing here (this has taken an hour so far) , I can sign my signature but not write properly. Thus forms are a real problem.

On exam here, had L facial droop, aphasia (speaking gibberish) and generalized weakness. CTH reviewed with evidence of R sided vasogenic edema with midline shift, causing effacement of the lateral ventricles and concern for uncal herniation with mass effect on the midbrain.

I don't have an official diagnosis yet but I am fairly certain I have aphasia, I struggle with reading, writing and speaking. I struggle with sentence structure, I skip words, I say/write/read words incorrectly.

Have been left with brocas aphasia and some other symptoms like drooling from time to time. Waiting for speach and language therapy but have various apps downloaded. It's very frustrating. I can say individually words but not sentences. Moving on with life as best I can .

We are looking into using a private speech therapy for our dad who has fluent aphasia. does anyone know a good company? thank you

My husband was damaged mainly on the left frontal lobe which has resulted in many long last disabilities, he has cognitive impairment, aphasia, communication and processing disorder, deaf in one ear, nystagmus and has been registered as partially sighted.

Even with the aphasia from the tumor her personality is clear. When the OT asked her name her response was "fiery bitch". At one point spontaneously she said: "I hope there is plenty of stuff for everyone." She is and has always been a generous, caring person.

He also suffers quite badly from Aphasia, he can understand what I say but has difficulty finding the right words to say himself. He also suffers with pain in his arm and shoulder, he fell off his bike and badly broke his arm and jaw as well as severe head Injuries.

When he first arrived at the ER after suffering aphasia and impaired memory, the doctors found a lesion on his temporal lobe. Shortly thereafter he suffered a grand mal seizure. After the seizure the doctors were having difficulty getting him to awaken, so they induced a coma.

My husband had a severe tbi in August after falling off his bike and now in rehab .They have told me he has Aphasia, I'd never heard of it until now . The left side of his brain was badly damaged.
