hi guys.
I was wondering if any one on here has had any experience with any private speech and Language therapists. We are looking into using a private speech therapy for our dad who has fluent aphasia.
does anyone know a good company?
thank you

Dear Maychritine,
You could ask, your local Headway Centre about this- especially if, like 'My' Headway (Headway Essex) they 'Do' this themselves- Well as It's a, fairly large, Part of a 'Speech & Language Programme' they Run on Thursdays.
Alternatively you can maybe Ask at your Doctors, and maybe even get a 'Referral' too😀, Failing this the Local Lending Library might have 'Lists' or you could, of course, try On Line.
Sorry that I can't be any home, actual help Maychristine- what a lovely 'Name', by the way, is it your own? I hope you get the Info. you need soon.

i had my speech language therapy through a university... if theres one near you they might be an option or have recommendations... good luck :}
I had my speech and language therapy throught the NHS. They helped me within 3 weeks and gave me a lot of "Things to do" such as listening of foods with the start of alphabet, names, word searches, jobs to get tmy brain working again and remember things. I'm not sure if this would help you or not, sorry if its not the right thing.
asltip.co.uk. Might be a useful link.?
My ability to use language is intact, but my speech articulation is very bad. I only had the bare minimum 30 years ago, and it had little effect. I had a therapy called vital stim 10 years ago, and it had a amazing potential. Unfortunately the therapist couldn’t replicate her results, and I was cut soon after.
