Post TAVI Oddities
My mum (70s) has just had a TAVI procedure to treat
aortic
stenosis
. She is also now on Apixaban for atrial fibrillation following the procedure. She is recovering well but getting some odd experiences.

Which type of aortic valve replacement is right for me?
I have just found out that I have severe
aortic
stenosis
and have been referred for a replacement valve. I am a keen climber, bouldering mainly. Should I get mechanical or tissue? Can you climb hard on warferin? Anyone got experience of this?

ibuptofen?
I am about 10 weeks post
aortic
valve replacement. Prior to learning I had
aortic
valve
stenosis
earlier this year I always regarded ibuprofen as a superior pain killer to paracetamol. Might have something to do with a childhood in Nottingham where it was developed by Boots!

Hello! Does anyone else live with a BAV? I was looking for a local support group to join but there isn’t one in my town. Glad I found this online group!

I have
stenosis
of the
Aortic
valve and was informed during my yearly echo review this week that I’m now being considered for replacement valve within the next month or two. I was diagnosed with AF 6 years ago and have had two catheter ablations , the last just over a year ago .

Mild aortic stenosis
I was recently diagnosed following an echocardiogram. I will have a follow up echo in 3 years. The only medication I have is ramipril 2.5mg. I discovered my blood pressure was as high as it is now 5 years ago but the nurse only said it was a bit high and it wasn't pursued. What I'm wondering is if 3

TAVI pre and post experience?
I have severe
aortic
valve
stenosis
(bicuspid valve) but am asymptomatic. I am terrified of the idea of open heart surgery, or any other treatment for that matter, but considering having a Transcatheter aortic valve implementation .

Echo results and beside myself with worry...
The main points I picked out were:
Aortic
valve heavily calcified Severe
stenosis
with peak velocity detected from apex Dilation of aorta at sinuses and ascending level. Aortic arch appears normal at 28mm? Sinus of Valsalvia is 48mm peak aortic velocity 4 m/s Peak pressure drop 64mmHg.

Help please
Having been born with a heart murmour, I had no problems until I was diagnosed with severe
aortic
stenosis
in November 2022. It was an awful shock to be told I had a faulty aortic valve (inherited from my mother) and that I would need OHS especially as i thought I was fairly assymptomatic.

Which condition should I be most worried about
Diagnosis of ecg was mild
Aortic
Stenosis
. Valve area 0.9cm2 mtv 37mmHg. I am told I will be sent for another ecg in 18months. I am still short of breath and having dizzy spells. What should I be most concerned about?

Tachycardia
Over the years it has been found that I have a heart murmur first thought to be an
aortic
stenosis
but now known to be a subaortic membrane and am being followed up on a yearly basis for this.
