Pre op exercise
It was discovered in the latter part of last year that I have moderate/severe
aortic
stenosis
possibly as a result of a bicuspid valve which I would have been born with. I’m under Kings and have waited 4 months to be discussed by a MD team. So, 4 months of inaction by me also.

Slipped through the net? Concerned.
I was diagnosed with severe
aortic
stenosis
- total shock - in November. I saw a cardiologist who referred me to a surgeon. I saw the surgeon on 2 January.

New to the group - trying to “get ready” for AVR!
I’m 57, live in SE England and need a new
aortic
valve sometime fairly soon due to BAV and
aortic
stenosis
which is now severe. I want to get fit, lose weight , find a great hospital/surgeon and generally do all I can to make sure I’m still here for the next 30 years.

Overwhelmed!
Bit of back story- I'm 22 with congenital
aortic
stenosis
and
aortic
regurgitation. I have had 2 operations to balloon the valve as a baby which has made it possible to prolong surgery up to now. Repairing my valve is unfortunately not an option so replacement is a must.

81 year old getting a transcatheter implant – how tough?
He is 81-years old, has been diagnosed with
Aortic
Valve
Stenosis
, and is in the queue to get a transcatheter implant in March. Even though it is less invasive than open-heart surgery, I worry that it will be very difficult for someone of his age to recover from this operation.

Travel Insurance with Aortic Stenosis
I had declared my
Aortic
Stenosis
and thought that it was going through only to have a message displayed saying they are unable to insure me at this time and that I should phone them. Most annoying. Has anyone obtained travel insurance with this condition? Would be grateful for any advice.

Can feel blood going through smaller valve
I don't have any symptom of
aortic
stenosis
as such but the last couple of days I have noticed a flippy floppy feeling in the heart with no pain on exercise. Is this a normal symptom?

A bit spooky - Did I always know?
At 59 I have been diagnosed with severe
aortic
stenosis
. Its all a bit of a shock. Ive seen a surgeon at Kings and he's putting my case to a multidisciplinary team. I will know in a week or so if surgery will be this part of the year or towards the end.
