FYI: Ask About GeneSight - Genetic Test for Psychotropic Drug Reaction
It covers antidepressants, hypnotics,
antipsychotics
and mood stabilizers. I'm sharing here because after several years, multiple doctors & hospital affiliations, and numerous medications through trial and error, I just recently heard of GeneSight. My new doc offered it, and I jumped at it.

That Disconnected Feeling..
I just wanted to ask those who have recovered- if you had the feeling of being disconnected from your life, like things aren't quite "real"- do you think it was caused by the
antipsychotics
themselves, or is it a symptom of PP?

Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Meds
Antipsychotics
and anesthesia can be really dangerous. Also, thought it weird that Levodopa may not work as well for DLBers. The mystery of it all continues... https://www.lbda.org/content/symptoms Warm Regards, Sarah

Changing my bipolar diagnosis seems impossible!
I was treated, inhumanely in my opinion, with several psychiatric hospital admissions and
antipsychotics
over a period of 5 years.

Update - 18 months on
I'm still on antidepressants and
antipsychotics
but hope to decrease the dosages in the next few months. For now it's all about gaining confidence and enjoying my daughter. I hope to go back to work but am not rushing things yet as I don't want the stress of teaching setting me back.

Confuzzled
Been on
antipsychotics
for 17 years as of next week. Still can't be figured out what's wrong with me. Definitely a personality disorder, possibly and most likely dissociative. Found myself having nightmares while I'm awake again. Scared my boss and a few customers.

What is your experience on
antipsychotics
and did your feelings come back after you weaned off? I'm feeling really scared thank you.

Do I have Pernicious Anaemia?
Unfortunately my GP never acted on the test results as they were done privately and as I was taking
antipsychotics
I suspect they put the neurological symptoms down to the bipolar disorder and side effects from the meds.

New here
I currently take Fluoxetine for depression/anxiety/OCD/nervous breakdown and I also have underactive thyroid, iron deficiency and B vitamin deficiency but I have been on and off antidepressants and
antipsychotics
ever since I was 24 and around about the same time all my other problems surfaced.

tardive dysphoria
Seems my depression is permanent and chronic probably due to tardive dysphoria as a result of years of use of snri medication with
antipsychotics
. I have not felt decent or good in two years.

Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis, particularly hallucinations
Typical
antipsychotics
, as well as some atypical
antipsychotics
, worsen PD motor symptoms due to blockade of dopamine D2 receptors. Quetiapine and clozapine have been studied in PDP and are the most commonly used treatments for PDP.

In psychiatric hospital... what are thyroid toxic levels set at posting?
I had to beg, I literally may have well as been on the floor to beg that much, and as they drew it up they changed it from the dreaded olanzapine one to risperidone, some reprieve... but I still feel care of the state being forced an injection of
antipsychotics
I may not need every month.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Berberine
"Olanzapine is a first line medication for the treatment of schizophrenia, but it is also one of the atypical
antipsychotics
carrying the highest risk of weight gain." "Neither metformin nor berberine treatment demonstrated a significant inhibition of olanzapine-increased food intake.

Meds 5 Medication to avoid with PSP
Of great interest are the atypical
antipsychotics
such as Quetiapine which are often given to quieten disturbed behaviour in elderly dementia cases and at times PSP. If you have issues with emotions and disturbed behaviour you may want to discuss Antihistamines with your G.P.

What's wrong with me?
I'm on antidepressants and
antipsychotics
. I have strange dreams that feel so real. My baby hates me but I'm sure that's because she doesn't feel like mine. I would say she was swapped at the hospital but I didn't go to hospital I had her at home alone. It was so quick I don't remember much of it.
