ICD,s
Hi Everyone! My partner has recently been fitted with an ICD in rather a fast manner following a call to attend A& E when this Heart Loop Recorder noted a 10 second Ventricular Standstill. He was unaware of this until his heart monitor team called but down the line he was fitted with an ICD that day.

Should one asymptomatic and isolated AF episode be medicated?
Hi Forum. At my pre op assessment (for hip surgery) last Monday the ECG showed AF. No symptoms at all, I walk my dogs +/- 4 miles daily. My BP machine shows normal resting heart rate and BP. So on strength of one ECG my GP has prescribed anticoagulant tabs which I know is for the AF risk of clotting.

Edoxoban Update
I recently posted that my Cardiologist had put me on Edoxoban 30mg daily, instead of Aspirin which I had been taking for years. He said the Edoxoban was both safer, and unlike Aspirin would prevent the risk of stroke. A day after starting Edoxoban, I either came down with a cold, or allergy symptoms

Knock wood... AFib continues to be in check
I've been working at 6,800 ft/2,100 m as a Camp cook in the San Bernardino mountains for the past two summers and roaming the Santa Ana River Valley peaks at 10,000-11,500 ft/3,000-3,500 m. A month ago, I went in for a routine visit with my lead cardiologist (I had a massive heart attack 11½ years ago

Introduction
I joined a month or so ago. Got a very nice email from someone who really supports this website pushing me to contribute. Normally don't do this but here goes. I'm 65 and retired. Found out I had kidney disease in 1984. Untreated strep infection (theory then). Got bad quick. Asked family on Christmas

Explaining stroke risk from CHADsVASC score
I thought I understood stroke risk from AF until I was about to explain to my husband how CHADsVASC and HASBLED scores will be used during his consultation with a cardiologist. Am I correct that the scores present a cumulative risk for each year in patients who are not taking any anticoagulant? My

Getting my life back
I wrote awhile ago that I was scheduled for a Wolf Mini-maze procedure at the DeBakey Houston Heart Center. I suffered through a year of blood thinners first. I am now 3 weeks out since my surgery. Dr Wolf did his magic on my heart and put in an LAA Atriclip so I am now free from blood thinners and

Anyone with AF got any experience with taking either Zanubrutinib or R&V
Hi I have just returned home after a session with my CLL consultant. Initially my consultant was happy to start me on Zanubrutinib (Brukinsa) the following day but subsequently he called me to tell me that following discussions with his other CLL colleagues their advice was that because of my AF then
