I'm 64, Hypertrohic Cardiomyopathy, pacemaker and ICD in place, anticoagulants, betablockers etc. Generally well but lack energy.

I wonder if that's the right question?

If your question is a Guinness Book of Records sort of thing, then fair enough.

But if your question is really about how long Curryandchips might have left then I'd suggest a different approach.

The bottom line is that Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy on it's own (unlike other Cardiomyopathies) doesn't really depress your life expectancy all that much.

An actuary calculating your life expectancy for say life assurance purposes, would focus much more on any co-morbidities, close relative mortality, and life style issues such as smoking or obesity rather than HC in itself.

Consequently I'd suggest stepping back and looking at your HC as just a single and fairly trivial piece within a much bigger jigsaw.

Good luck!

I'm 69 so older than you!. I also have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which wasnt diagnosed until I was 60 and only then because AF reared its ugly head. A leading consultant at St Guys and a few more, have all told me that my hypertrophic cardiomyopathy will not shorten my life. I've recently had the pace and ablate fir the AF symptoms and feel fantastic. Only take apixaban now.

My grandad was 76 when he passed away, with a totally unrelated issue (metastatic cancer). He was diagnosed with HCM at 41, and lived with it with medication and ablation. ☺️
