Anxiety and P.A.
I'm doing what I can to get on top of my pernicious
anaemia
, more frequent injections, iron infusion etc. Is anxiety/depression linked to P.A? Do things get better as the P.A. is treated better? I was never a person who cried. How can I nip this in the bud so I don't sink again?

Polyneuropathy.
I treat my polyneuropathy with B6 and B12. GracePV shared their experience with B6, B12 nd B1. This inspired me to revisit my self treatment of my polyneuropathy. I came across information about Benfotiamine which is similar to Thiamine Hydrochloride and Thiamine Nitrate. There are indications

Other tests done recently were: B12 - 240 - I have pernicious
anaemia
and am getting B12 injections off the GP but am supplementing with injections of my own as 3 monthly isn’t enough. Ferritin - 16 - have been prescribed ferrous sulphate off the GP.

following first 10 S/Is now totally exhausted
have now been S/I ing EOD for the last 20 days, and am feeling mentally uplifted and hopeful and done some housework, ( my home had turned itself into a tip over the last 10 years or so) but last 3 days feeling really exhausted, cannot wake up or get out of bed in the morning, in a peculiar way worse

Trazodone
Hi , after trying very hard to navigate depression without drugs I have now just started Trazodone . Taking Gabapentin successfully, only mild RL . Had every dopamine drug for many years and now completely free of them for at least 6 months . My question is although Trazodone is deemed not to affect

I have been diagnosed with mild

B12 or folic acid first?
My daughter has just been diagnosed with B12 and folate deficiency, The likely cause is poor diet so I’m happy not to pursue injections at this stage. Her GP has prescribed B12 and 5mg folic acid, both in tablet form. Please can anyone confirm which she should take first and for how long before

Low iron, supplementing with 3 Arrows
Hi everyone, I posted about a week ago after having iron studies done through the NHS, it came back that I wasn’t iron deficient enough to be treated by a doctor, but my levels were definitely low enough to start treatment since I’m already experiencing symptoms and don’t want to get worse….. Latest

Having twice weekly injections since my loading dose in mid December as I still have lots of neuro symptoms. Feeling generally better, but have woken up with migraines the last 4 mornings after they were really improving, and felt v sick this morning 🙄 Every day is an unknown! Had about 30/40 different

First venesection done!
Today was "just" half a pint, to get him started as some people can end up with a form of
anaemia
if the blood is removed too fast. The treatment was over in 5 minutes, the waiting around afterwards for 2 lots of observations took far longer! So this is my gentle nudge to you all.

Just diagnosed with autoimmune atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia
I assume this is the root cause of my pernicious anemia? I have an appointment this week to discuss with GI, but want to go into the appointment educated. Does anyone else have this? Any treatment for this? I’m already on EOD (for last two weeks) B12 shots and multivitamins. Thanks in advance for your

body giving up on me after Covid… the saga continues!
I’ve had pernicious
anaemia
for many, many years but never experienced anything like this. My B12 definitely isn’t working properly and neither is my stomach! First came the tanking ferritin, now my folate is deficient and my thyroid levels are bouncing around.

Grumpy Old Lady in Pain - am I being too cynical?
I had an unpleasant experience at my very recently previous practice. I’ve been back in the UK for five years and only used the practice a handful of times. I had emergency surgery recently and have just had a crash course in how the NHS operates.! Am I being too cynical? and have I got most of the

How quickly would B12 Levels drop post injection?
No evidence of
anaemia
on blood results. No IF antibody but positive for Gastric Parietal Cell antibodies. All of the symptoms improved by a month or so post loading doses. In November Dr re tested B12 level. It was 720ng/L Dr was reluctant to prescribe the 3 monthly maintenance injections.

Help with Symptoms
I’m thinking it’s down to my
anaemia
as well but not sure. I am already taking indigestion tablets everyday but seems to not work. I always feel lightheaded, tired all the time, gets incontinent with urine. When I was younger I tend to get red spots on my skin.
