Has anyone faced amputation?
He said there have been no advances with APS treatments and I should consider
amputation
. We could try surgery again, but I will clog up eventually. Lots to digest. Has anyone else had
amputation
of a limb because of APS? Advice???

AMPUTATION VERSUS BENEFITS OF ANTI-COAGULATION MEDS?
Per my earlier post about facing
amputation
, thank you so very much for responding/advice. I will seek a second opinion! I have never been put on aggressive anti-coagulation; just take a low-dose aspirin daily.

Amputation - The options.
After countless operations including leg stretch surgery he has taken the decision to go for below leg
amputation
. His consultant is against this decision, he wanted to amputate the rest of his toe stumps as these keep blistering.

Just diagnosed APS, Already have MS, Need support and advice please
Then, last October - I'm now 37, I had an arterial clot in my leg, almost a full

Has anyone out there been mis-diagnoised with Raynaurds to find out later that they actually had Buergers Disease?
I have been diagnoised with Buergers Disease and have currently over the last year lost 8 of my ten fingers by
amputation
due to circulation problems : ( I, like many of you, have low blood pressure readings and take medication for it.

Pedalling and Scleroderma Awareness Week!
Don offered to help the RSA after a childhood friend who suffered from scleroderma died from septicemia following a leg
amputation
last year at the age of 42. So far the challenge has raised over £17,000 for the RSA's Cool Million campaign but we're really hoping to reach £20,000.

A staggering 68% of parents are unaware that meningitis vaccinations do not protect their children from all forms of meningitis...
Research released earlier this week shows that a staggering 68% of mums and dads are unaware of the limitations of current vaccinations against meningitis. Although great strides have been made to protect children from some types of meningitis, there is currently no vaccine to protect against

Much help needed please. . . SSc DUs complicated by Raynaud's. . . Throbbing pain & no sleep in over a month
Hello, I live in New Jersey with my boyfriend & our 2 month old son. My boyfriend was diagnosed with Scleroderma & Raynaud's at about age 9. He is now age 28, far exceeding the doctor's initial expectations on mortality. Upon diagnosis, which was not easy to come by, he was treated quite aggressively

Hi all I have suffered multiple dvts in my right leg and a Pe in 2004 i had a heomorage which resulted in full lost of circulation to my right leg, there was talk of

I Know What I like (In Your Wardrobe)
This evening I’ve been mostly watching TV, I thought I might share this experience with you and my thoughts on what I have seen. The first programe (in no particular order) I thought might apply to some of us ticcers. It did to some extent, “Get Your House In Order” http://www.channel4.com/programmes

TOE ULCER?
I am reading about so many on here who have had toe ulcers and/or amputations. I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago with limited scleroderma and secondary raynaud's. I have always been a very active person and quit running b/c of hip and back pain from the scleroderma and found that Zumba and other group

Total knee replacement
I had surgert on Nov.21st and it's been a month since surgery. I go to physical therapy three times a week. I get a great workout for my knee for one hour straight. I also do exercises at home, and now I am starting to really get into my home for Christmas, and been doing holiday baking, my endurance

my son cotracted meningococal septicaemia four years ago and has had bilateral amputations and has kidney failure.
he is doing very well and is in full time school now. it is a devastating illness and its the longtime care that is the toughest. i am lucky to have a good family and group of friends. i cannot praise the nhs enough for their constant care not only for my son but also for my family.
