Worried stupid update

Hi just an update to add to my 1st "worried stupid " post

It turns out the beta blockers weren't doing anything to correct his heart rate and the option of changing the pacemaker/adding wires isnt an option as his heart beat is strong it's just not beating correctly with the ectopic beats and the miss firing

So to cut another long story short on Saturday night I recieved a call from the ward to say please dont panic but hes taken a turn for the worst and can you get back here but dont rush well of course I'm going to rush and worry who wouldn't when told them 2 things . I get there and hes wired up everywhere hes also got the crash cart at the end of his bed and the paddles are on ready to shock

It turns out his heart started going hay wire and they nearly lost him so they managed to stabilise him thankgod and thevye now got him on a central line with amiodarone going straight from his neck to his heart and this seems to be keeping his heart rate quiet normal ish he still has an occasional high episode but it comes straight back down he was transferred to leeds general CCU last night and is now awaiting the heart mapping but if there's more than 2 abnormalities the ablation cant be done and he will have to stay on the amiodarone for the rest of his life

He's had his ablation yesterday there were 3 areas of concern they've done 2 of the 3 they couldn't do the last one which they said was a larger area of lots of little ones because it was too close too his coronary artery and the chances of rupturing it were too great

So they said they've managed 75% of what they wanted to do

So now they are keeping in for observation over the weekend to see what happens and to see where they go from here
