Tiredness levels
Just wondering if folk have noticed some kind of correlation between extent of tiredness and both number and length of AFIB episodes I know correlation should make sense (ie fewer shorter episodes = less tired) but last night I had only a 10 minute episode (Thanks to
Amiodarone
, largely) and today I'm

New Member, Acute Atrial Fibrillation first time!
Hi all, suffered acute AF this Wednesday this week for the first time, treated in Emergency Department with Flecanide and
Amiodarone
infusions to no avail. AF corrected with one delivery of cardio version. Came home Friday on Apixaban, feeling anxious that it will happen again!

No work = No Afib?????
Was the cessation of episodes a) thankfully therapeutic -
Amiodarone
I started a month ago now doing its job well b) annoyingly afibulous (afib playing its usual hide and seek game) or c) blindingly obvious - (work or associated adrenaline build-up - hard to call it stress as I love my job - or maybe

Sotalol Side effects and the Afib journey
Dosage of
Amiodarone
went as always from 3X200mg daily to 2 to 1 daily. Just wondering if people had eventually had their dosage increased again?

Mitral valve replacement
I will be on Warfarin for 6 months, am also taking Furosmide, Perindopril and
Amiodarone
Hydrochloride. Have been progressing quite well but for the last few days my eyes keep going out of focus, today being the worst and longest. Anyone out there with any advice or similar experience.

How to avoid/manage episodes
Despite being on
Amiodarone
, afib episodes are increasing in frequency to almost daily- still mainly overnight. I'm trying everything to keep working. I have some flexibility in my job (Parish Minister), but obviously when I need to be there, I need to be there(funerals etc).

In and out of AFIB
My normal experience with AFIB is for it to start then run right through for 15-45 minutes or so (was longer but
amiodarone
has cut it back) until nsr resumed. This afternoon for the past hour I have been going in and out of AFIB which is annoying enough, but I also hace a heart event monitor!

Experience with 'maintenance' dosage of Amiodarone
This seems to be because I started, as is usual, on 3x200
amiodarone
then reduced to 2 and now on the 1 per day maintenance dose. I know I've mentioned this before, but I am surprised/disappointed to be so far (and so quickly) back to square 1'.

Ablation 4 maybe?
I've just picked up my first prescription for
amiodarone
. I have read some horror stories about this drug but my GP has handed me the prescription without worry. My Consultant has fully warned me of side effects. And I would rather
amiodarone
than my heart stop.

So disappointed at my consultation
He said if I had a cardioversion I would have to have
amiodarone
. Does anyone know if that’s correct please? I had
amiodarone
after my second ablation and never want to take it again I felt so bad.

Sneezing back to rhythm
However, start my
amiodarone
today and hopefully it's effects are NOT to be sneezed at!

Breathlessness/fatigue
Docs are pursuing
amiodarone
as new drug and possible ablation. In the meantime they don't seem bothered about breathlessness etc. Should I pursue this with them?

Worried about other half
Continued to take
Amiodarone
til he started coughing & feeling breathless; he saw his GP who immediately stopped the
Amiodarone
(that was 23 July). He’s since had blood test, chest x-ray, echo cardio gram and CT scan. No heart failure, but there is lung damage.

Eye problems............Amiodarone
Don't know if it was caused by the
Amiodarone
, but can't be too careful when eyes are involved.
