Thank you for that John6, very helpful information. I was fortunate enough to resist this drug when prescribed , although other folk with different symptoms would respond differently.
Thank you John6. I was aware of the history of amiodarone as I was recommended to take this drug and had resisted for months. Then I succumbed to pressure last December. I stop taking it of my own accord in May this year after 5 months of taking it. EP has not offered alternative when asked. I’ll just put up with PAF and so far not to bad. I am on waiting list for ablation but jury in my head still out on it.
Also had to tell the GP what blood test to take!
That was so interesting John I'm someone who was put on amiodarone but got pneumonia very soon afterwards
I took myself off it doctors dont always get it right and thats a fact
I'm in the USA. EP wanted to prescribe amiodarone - cardiologist discouraged me from taking it. I went with the cardiologist after reading up on the side effects. I am doing fine in permanent AF on Pradaxa (2X day) and 10 mg. Bisoprolol daily (although it seems 10 mg. is high, compared to what most others take on this forum.) I used to take Lisinopril but cardiologist took me off that due to lower BP.
