Ablation yesterday
I’m off
Amiodarone
but still on Bisoprolol, apixaban and a reflux drug. I have heart flutters but no pain. Sleeping was disturbed as uncomfortable on my side. I’m also still smelling anesthetiser or plastic when I breathe from the tubes..

An update after today.
I’m now off
amiodarone
& they still want to titrate my bisoprolol up to 10mg According to today, long QT isn’t affected by beta blockers but it is a symptom of calcium channel problems. The Prof says I’ve got Long QT & not channelopathy which makes the decision of stopping my
amiodarone
quite odd.

Between 2 appointments, frustration building!
Stopping the
amiodarone
is a concern as nothing has happened to me since September & that’s the only different drug from then to now? Thanks.

WHETHER TO COME OFF AMIODARONE - DIFFICULT DECISION.
Amiodarone
was given intravenously which stopped the AF at first but during the night he kept switching between sinus rhythm and AF. He was then started on
amiodarone
tablets and discharged 24 hours later after being told he had paroxysmal AF possibly as a result of the stent placement.

Undecided on 3rd ablation
Also my recovery time was so long which I attributed to my lack of fitness and
Amiodarone
that I took for three months after ablation. Do you know is it absolutely necessary to have
Amiodarone
after an ablation?

Amiodarone side effects/testing
Wondering if my thyroid has been affected by the
Amiodarone
, so going to the doc later this week. My questions are: in your experience with
Amiodarone
, how long did it take for side-effects to show? At what point were you tested/checked for the various side effects?

AND something else!
Following hubby’s bronchial pneumonia in August when ‘they’ discovered lung damage caused by the
Amiodarone
which was being used for his AF; then investigations into why his left leg doesn’t work properly; he’s now under respiratory specialist as well as heart specialist!

New to Afib and playing tennis again
I’ve been in and out of A&E, had 2 inversions and ended up on
Amiodarone
, Bisoprolol and Apixaban after trying other drugs first. I was in hospital last week and feel exhausted. I am wanting to return to doubles tennis (mostly social and league games), which was a big part of my life.

Overmedicated after ablation? (long post - my apologies)
But she stressed that if my heart rate was above 60 at bedtime, I should take the
Amiodarone
. Again next morning - bradycardia, although in 50's, not so bad.

1st time poster
He put me on
amiodarone
200 mg & continued the diltiazem 30mg as needed. He said the
amiodarone
was to prime me for the cardioversion. He then scheduled me for a cardioversion a week later. On that scheduled date a echocardiogram was to be performed, thereafter would have a the cardioversion.

Amiodarone questions
Went on to
amiodarone
about 6 weeks ago and have recently posted something similar, but still have questions: - how does
amiodarone
work? Is the aim to prevent episodes or to curtail them?in the beginning it really cut down length of episodes.
