Are Food supplements worth a try?
Hi all, I have recently been hospitalised with an endo flare requiring a significant amount of opioids to help with the pain. i have read online that omega 3, turmeric and ginger root supplements are good at acting as an anti-inflammatory and are helpful in relieving long term chronic pain. I

Possible Endometriosis?
Hi all, first post here. have been struggling with a lot of ongoing, chronic bowel, bladder and pelvic symptoms for many years, which have worsened recently after going through a particularly stressful time. My periods have usually been on the heavier side, but would always last around 7 - 8 days

Hi, The general advice to eat “healthy” for good cardiovascular function sounds sensible. eg less saturated fat and salt; more green vegetables; kale; spinach; berries eg blueberry; alcohol in moderation - especially red wines with resveratrol (antioxidant) eg Malbec etc. (In fact, alcohol in moderation

Mixed feelings following first GP appointment since PMR diagnosis
Started on 20mg prednisolone mid June, four weeks later reduced to 17.5 mg for four weeks, no problems, reduced to 15mg last Friday. By Monday the pain was back and I was very breathless; when I saw GP face to face, two days ago I was told to go back to 17.5 for two weeks and then try again. I raised

Well I'll be damned!
Well, as a follow up to my post 3 weeks ago, I had my Rheumy appt. this morning. She spent ages with me. I told her all my woes, and she thoroughly examined me. I must've have yelped loudly about 20 times 😖 She went through all of my symptoms one by one and said she had come to the conclusion

Medichecks Result and a warning about testing & HRT
Apologies for the long post (my first) and thank you if you manage to get to the end of it. Bit of history first (there's more in my bio), after 7 years of being bedbound with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, I was finally prescribed combination T3/T4 in 2018. I hadn't had my bloods checked since 2019

No Alendronic Acid!
So this month's prescription for Alendronic Acid hadn't been done very -unusual for our very efficient pharmacy. Pharmacist explained to me that there is a national shortage and there just isn't any to be had -he has emailed the surgery to request the alternative ibandronate, but they haven't got

Change in hair texture/appearance while on Ibrance/Faslodex
I am on Ibrance/Faslodex since early June. Before that I had 1 1/2 cycles of Kiskali but had a severe adverse reaction and had to stop. My hair started thinning on Kiskali, it is now shedding big time and I have lost about 50% of my hair. and the texture and appearance of my remaining hair has changed

Clear glasses for dry eyes
I have exceptionally dry eyes caused by long term use of Cosopt and Monopost for glaucoma. I also use prescribed Carmellose sodium eye drops 1% eight times daily and HyLo night ointment. I have had three corneal ulcers and one onset of marginal keratitis in the last 19 months. (I am attending hospital

Alendronic Acid
My liver guy has prescribed Alendronic Acid following my DEXA scan. I'm pissed off as I really thought I had calcium covered. I'm a fussy vegetarian that practically lives off cheese on toast and milkshakes ! Most of the stuff I've read on the web refers to osteoporosis in menopausal women, so I'm looking

Alendronate (alendronic acid)
We've heard that some people are having problems getting alendronic acid 70mg tablets. This is because some companies that make these tablets have run out of stock. This shortage may last until September 2022.
If you usually take alendronate tablets
If you can't get your usual tablets, speak

Best blood values
Already learned a lot in this forum and from other sources about optimal blood values for Vit D and B12. Just wonder if similar recommendations exist for zinc, selenium, iodine, iron and omega 3 and 6? I’m on WFPBD, take some supplements and check my blood values every three months, some more expensive

B12/Folate
In the mean time, I took electrolytes, magnesium, iron, D, ammonia reducing
amino
acids
, etc. I noticed B1 made a significant different. Then I added in methyl B vitamin complex (again), and I improved even more. A couple months ago, I added 3,000mcg Adeno/Hydroxo B12 and 800mcg folate.

Methionine Restriction
Overview
"In 1959, one of the early studies conducted in methionine restriction evaluated several outcomes produced from diets lacking specific
amino
acids
. The study was conducted on rats fed isocaloric diets that were complete in all

acids
or devoid of one essential
