How much can anti-hypertensives affect GFR?
Take ARBs, epleronone, bisoprolol, furosemide, amlodipine,
amiloride
. BP fantastically well controlled now for past 16 years. It was under medicated for years by my GP who said it was only white coat hypertension (which it wasnt).

Chronic Cryptogenic Cirrhosis at age 27
I'm on a low dose of
amiloride
and I haven't suffered with ascites since starting the water tablets. I also haven't suffered with hepatic encephalopathy or any confusion for that matter.

Need help with swollen feet
I’m already on two other meds and this took the place of
Amiloride
. I’ve been taking it, but my feet have been swollen every since. So he prescribed furosemide one and a half tablet every day. I’m taking it and my feet haven’t gone down yet.

what now? after pace & ablate.
I have been given 40mg furosemide and 5mg
Amiloride
the furosemide to be increased to 80mg if needed. Although this has improved the outcome I am still quite breathless. do I accept this or pursue things further? I have to return to my EP on 22nd of March or cancel if I am happy.

Anyway fast forward a little bit he put me on
amiloride
and metoprolol succinate (excuse my spelling). Now let’s fast forward a bit more they worked okay at first brought my blood pressure down to 150/90, 140/95. However, a few months after it creeped back up again!

Multiple health issues.
Different nephrologist saw me and after examining me, reviewing my medical records and discussing family health history diagnosed me with Liddles Syndrome and put me on
amiloride
. So far, so good. I see my nephrologist again in early September.

Amiloride
Hi, Anyone out there on this. I started taking it but it made me wee so much I stopped - I don't really know whether i need it or not as not sure I need a diuretic but thought I would ask here as it is going to take me a month to get back to see my GP for a routine appointment.

Is Amiloride an effective alternative to Spironolactone in treatment of Ascites from liver disease
I have no previous experience of taking
Amiloride
but nevertheless am thinking of asking my liver specialist who I am due to see again in about two weeks time if it can be prescibed for me instead of Spironolactone.
