Stroke risk
Reading some of this forum has made me quite worried about stroke risk. My EP seems confident that I am ok on aspirin and I have taken the online stroke risk test and I come out zero. Bot the opinion on here seems to be that we all should be on warfarin, Is this the case or does my age (50) and

TACE
Well it will be soon to have another procedure (TACe) and you could sayit took me about 2 weeks to get over it because of the pain at the last minute of procedure. I had to have an Echo on heart prior and wonder if one has this test just before having the TACE??? on each occasion.

Should I be concerned?
I am 69 with cholesterol level 6 and fairly low blood pressure which the GP says is very good. Both my younger brothers have recently had stents inserted and I am concerned that I may be at risk as my dad died with a heart attack at 69. I do not have any chest pain but I do get unusually tired often,

Any ideas on a suitable job for someone having emphysema and coronary heart disease?
Hello. I am new to here. I have been looking on the Internet for a few weeks and have pretty much gone round in circles. I'm 47. Recently had a CT scan only to be informed I have emphysema. I read a bit of info on the GPs computer screen, it said severe centrilobular emphysema. She moved the screen before

Protect Your Heart With Diabetes
When it comes to heart disease, diabetes may deliver a double whammy. On its own, diabetes puts you at a high risk for developing heart disease, and one of the medications that is sometimes part of diabetes treatment can have negative effects on the heart as well. This issue has come to light recently

MUST KNOW WHAT ACCORD SAID
This study was designed to see if lowering A1c to 6.5%, instead of the ADA's recommended 7.0%, could prevent heart attacks. The study was stopped early when analysis of preliminary data showed a slight excess of heart attack deaths in the subjects in the group who were striving to lower their A1cs.

If you have Familial cholesterol, why dont you have a stroke or heart attack at a very young age?
If your born with this cholesterol problem, then i imagine your cholesterol would be high as a child, therefore applying the same or similar risk as a teen or adult.... Bear in mind the amount of crap a child can eat.....when i was a child it was breakfast of any cereal (eg frosties with full fat milk

Hi all, I've been suffering anxiety attacks for a few weeks now and have had chest pain with the palpitations. I'm finding the chest pain/tightness is regularly occurring. I don't have any shortness of breath. Its almost as though the palpitations have caused my chest to become sore. Does anyone get
