Anyone else have scleroderma en coup de sabre?
Visited the dermatologist today who is trying steroid injections to recover the hair on the patches of
alopecia
on my scalp. My right eye is sunken due to the loss of fatty tissue. Opthamologist shared my images on a WhatsApp group to find answer for me in March.

I’m furious with our GP practice
We started our little art class yesterday, after an 18 month break due to covid. One of the ladies and I walked up together and she mentioned that she wasn’t very well and that she had an under active thyroid. Long story short.... she has had the condition for many years and just had her Levothyroxine

Limited UK Treatment
Women don’t want a smooth skinned man, let alone one with my admittedly fairly androgynous face, even before
alopecia
Alopecia
. With COVID, I highly doubt new treatment will accelerate. I am at a point now where I just feel like there is no hope.

Two doses of enoxaparin inj a day for APS stroke survivors?
I ve had a couple of dibilatating strokes but w alot of PT(physio) i am very close to 98%. My question is i am on enoxaparin 2.2 mg/kg every twelve hours is this average for most. I know some without strokes take only take 40mg a day as a preventative. What are other”APS stroke” patients taking. Curious

How to approach GP for first time about diagnosis?
Over the past 15 years I have been to the doctor with a range of symptoms which include: hair loss (diagnosed as
alopecia
areata), chronic sore throat and swollen glands (described as 'nothing special' by a GP who advised bed rest and honey and lemon), fatigue (put down to depression), anaemia (diagnosed

Getting worse I think@
I have seen a scalp specialist who has told me it is
alopecia
. I haven't been to the Doctors as yet because I don't want to take medication. I'm quite emotional about this as I used to have lovely thick hair. My husband is wonderful and reassures me all the time.

What is the effect of biotin? Does it impact thyroid functions or the TSH blood test?

Testing Pituitary Function - Any Advice Please?
Eventually I paid to see an endocrinologist privately and he started me on Levothyroxine - without waiting for a blood result because of my bald patches of scalp (GP diagnosed this ugly hair loss as
alopecia
), weight gain and flaking dry skin.

Can't seem to get anywhere
At the same time I developed
alopecia
. All my hair fell out. I was then diagnosed with a Thoracic Ascending Aortic Aneurysm and the Consultant put all the Thyroid stuff on the back burner. So I had Open Heart Surgery April 2019 to repair the Aneurysm.

Biotin Can Affect Labs
MK83 previously mentioned biotin to BabyOleg. This is not about not taking it, but how it may affect bloodwork results. I recently discovered by accident that it can affect labs which doesn't mean not to take it, but also it is in vitamin supplements. I have hyperparathyroidisn and high Vit D 125 and
