How are your lungs after an asthma flare triggered by virus?
I'm just curious really, since this is not the first time I have experienced it and so it's not a shock to me (and I have an appointment with the asthma nurse booked) I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience? I have just had a chest infection which worsened my asthma. 2 weeks off work

Reversal
Hi Dogbot here I am on the liver transplant list but also the doctors are talking about a reversal for my stoma bag , now I think I will ask them to wait for my reversal because I have heard that it’s not an easy recovery and I don’t want to put off my Trasplant. Is there anyone that has had a reasonable

Is it really asthma?
I was diagnosed 2 years ago with
allergic
asthma
but I'm starting to wonder if it's a misdiagnosis. Does anyone else have breathing problems like this and found out it's something else? Spoke to asthma nurse today and she made me feel like an alien because I don't have the classic symptoms.

Worsening asthma, all very new to me
Hello, I am quite new to asthma, I got given a blue inhaler last year after having shortness of breath and then got prescribed a brown inhaler to take 2 puffs a day and it seemed to be managed. A few weeks ago my symptoms worsened, to ones I’d not experienced before- wheezing, cough, really tight chest

Allergies & weaning
I am currently weaning my 7 nearly 8 month old and I know I need to introduce allergens early and I have introduced most things now and has seemed fine. However, I’ve not yet introduced nuts....I am myself a nut allergy sufferer and I know her chances of being allergic are increased.....I’m very very

Influenza A virus directly modulates eosinophil responses.
Previous research explored the effects of IAV infection in patients with
allergic
asthma
. During the 2009 influenza pandemic, patients hospitalized with influenza experienced lower morbidity if
allergic
asthma
was an underlying condition.

Interesting article...
I was looking up the effect that weight has on asthma, and came across an interesting article from the American Lung Association. They say that people with a BMI index higher than 30, have more trouble breathing (due to their weight) and have more “asthma” symptoms. It was interesting because I was wondering

Is my mother Asthma?
My mother is 80 years old. She was taking Asthma meds since long years. But 3 years ago her doctor told her attacks are only in Autmn and she can get meds only that season. However my mother got self confident and exagerrated by never taking asthma meds. Since 3 years ago she did not have asthma attacks

Asthma and sleep 🛌
Worryingly, lots of people with asthma say they have difficulty sleeping due to their asthma symptoms. If your asthma is waking you up at night, it could be a sign that an asthma attack is on its way and you should contact your GP or asthma nurse about an urgent appointment. Find out more about asthma

Severe Asthma and Severe Allergies - the joys!
Does anyone here suffer with severe allergies that exacerbate their asthma? The reason I’m asking is because I’ve had a good run on Xolair (started early this year) but as my usual allergy season rears it’s ugly head, so have my symptoms which has come as a bit of a surprise. Kind of gutting since

Bisoprolol stopped
I was asked by my physician and cardiologist to completely stop bisoprolol 2.5mg immediately as I was having
allergic
asthma
. Have stopped it three days back but today had intense HR and visited the cardiologist. She prescribed Cardizam 30mg and said to take as need be.

Asthma and coronavirus
Hello there! I was diagnosed with coronavirus on 2 of July (blood test) apparently I had coronavirus back in March/April. I also have asthma but no symptoms since 15 years. Since Mars 2020 I have some breathing issues, when I exhale I can hear a little wheezing but nothing more. I can breath normally

Bisoprolol and weaning it off
Pain, aches, tingling, anxiety, breathlessness and
allergic
asthma
. All this now I come to know that are the side effects of bisoprolol. Can anyone please advice how to wean off from this tablet or is it ok to stop it just like that. I was given this for irregular heartbeat.

Severe Allergies and no help from Medics
To be fair, I haven't asked for a while. I've seen 1 consultant over about 40 years about allergies, and he was only interested in people who were relevant to his own research (allergies to shellfish) - one of the few things I'm NOT allergic to. When we moved to this practice I asked and after much pushing

Positive Covid Result
My son has severe
allergic
asthma
and has just got a positive Covid result. He’s on day 4 of symptoms now and is doing ok. His temperature is now normal and it just seems like a bad cold. He is coughing. He’s aged 19. Has anyone been through it that can provide any guidance/support?

Change in my asthma
I have just started taking Montelukast and just before lock down my Fostair was increased to 200/6 after a bad period of asthma. This was unusual and I normally struggle with my asthma in the winter months and not spring / summer. I am controlling my asthma at the moment but it has changed where I now
