GCA, Prednisone and is elective surgery ok?
Hello! Your site is fantastic, the information you share. I've learned so much in just the day I've been on it. I'm 52, diagnosed with GCA in February. My question to you right now....Has anyone had surgery while on the prednisone? This will be laser eye surgery to try and regain sight in an eye

is it a cure or what?????????
I have known my father to have diabetes, because, when I was young, going to school, i used to see him on a daily basis, testing his urine in a test tube over spirit burner. and then add some drops through dropper, and the color of the urine would change to green/red/or blue/yellow. Abatacept Trial (ART)
Hi All i"m looking for your experience of taking Abatacept for RD please. Anybody on the ART trial? I have given in after failing on HCQ and MTX and being in a lot of pain to try abatacept. I understand this drug is approved for RD and was offered it as part of a trial or without being in the trial

breathless increasing in AF what to do? I am Calli111
I was diagnosed with AF last August and although they started me on Amiodarone with a view to cardioversion I could not tolerate it. Nor could I tolerate beta blockers, ACE inhibitors or any of the other drugs they tried me on. These drugs make me feel even more breathless and to add to that feeling

Sjogrens and cataracts ?
I have SLE and Sjorgens, and have also developed a cataract in my right eye. Does anyone know if there are any problems with the Sjorgens if I have the cataract dealt with?? I don't want to encourage the Sjorgens to get worse, but it would be good to have better vision in that eye.

Is Amiloride an effective alternative to Spironolactone in treatment of Ascites from liver disease
Hello All, I have been taking Bumetanide (1 mg daily) and Spironolactone which is a potassium conserving diuretic (200 mg daily) for cica 2 years and this is to control ascites that has resulted from my AIH and Cirrhosis. It works reasonably well although ascitic fluid still continues to accumulate

Olmesartan medoxomil - a type II ATR antagonist, or angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). . . . . used to reduce high blood pressure.
Is anyone reading this ( - or known to him/her) taking this ? A "yes" from one to two members would be very helpful and most appreciated ! This is available as a number of generics, including Olmecip by Cipla and Olmesmart by Dr Reddy's. Sid Arthur
