Update review at 18 weeks after 3rd ozurdex
Hi All, Well oedema returning so 4 th implant planned. Doc says as long as I have some positive response then we can continue unless IOP or other factor becomes an issue. I am now officially chronic ( & cranky lol). Regarding cataract - firstly my friend got her situation wrong. It's not her cataract

Always question!
I have recently had my pre op for my forthcoming cataract operation. The surgeon is extremely experienced and happens to be acquainted with my EP. I am seeing him privately and as such had a private script for 3 lots of eye drops that my GP converted to NHS. All but one that is, as he said it was a '

Ascites .
My husband has decompensated cirrhosis with ascites which has caused major fluid retention. He has had it drained on a regular basis and tried diuretics which then caused kidney problems! He just had spironolactone increased to 100mgs., but still can't get fluid under control. Has anyone else experienced

Lucentis Experience?
Hello! I'm new here and would appreciate any and all insight. I was recently diagnosed with myopic choroidal neovascularization. I have two young kids, and my job largely depends on my ability to read and write so I am pretty depressed at the diagnosis. I received a shot of Lucentis yesterday, but

Nebivolol
Hi, to cut a long story short , I came off Bisoprolol 3.75 a month ago and asked GP to go on Nebivolol as others seemed happier on it, GP not happy , he said Nebivolol which I had read good reports on was not heart specific , only used for people over 70 and not as good for AF and mild AV regurgitation

Alcoholic fatty liver?
Hi everyone! I’m 31 years old and just 2 months ago I was diagnosed with mild fatty liver after having some abdominal pain. My LFts were just moderately high. I have been drinking heavily and daily for about a year and half. I used to drink just moderately on the weekends. I have now finally decided

Very High Liver Function Tests - any insights?
Hi All, Recently I was sick with what seemed like a virus for a week and got bloods taken as I had high unexplained GGT (400) earlier in the year, and was curious why a simple virus had me ill for so long. However, this time the results came back high across the board. I got them repeated a few days

AREDS2
I have been treated for wet macular degeneration in my right eye for approx 4years initially with Lucentis injections every month & for the last 12months Eylea injections every 12 weeks. I realise there is no cure for this but am seeking advise for taking an ARED2 formula to help prevent the same damage

ALT getting higher, fibroscan referral, need advice
Hi, I'm an alcoholic who has drank 2 bottles of wine a night for about a year and a half. I've had my liver investigated this year, and found out a lot. I had a high ALT (124) which then went down to (112) with a normal GGT. I also had an ultrasound which showed a fatty liver. Throughout all of this,

Trying to keep positive, how is it possible?
Hello everyone, As you can see, I gave myself a number, which with hindsight rather makes me look as if I came from a concentration camp! Wish that I had chosen a username instead. I was diagnosed with dry AMD, around last October, 2017. I was shocked to the core because I was not aware of any visual

Connection between cataract surgery and wet macular deneration.
I was told that my cataract surgery had nothing to do with causing my dry macular degeneration to bleed and turn to wet in both eyes. I had surgery in the left eye in February of 2017 and had a bleed in April of 2017. At that point, I started the shots in my left eye. I had cataract surgery in the right

Cataract surgery update.
So sorry. I got busy with summer activities and forgot to update. Thanks JeanE for the reminder. It was as straightforward as you all said it would be. Within 2 days the swelling was down enough to bring things into sharp focus. The eye surgeon said steroids from the lung cancer treatment, pneumonitis

High GGT Level after 2 years abstinence. Worried sick!
Hello Everyone, I quit heavy drinking exactly 2 years ago. My ALT and AST level came down to normal levels. My GGT was 140 it went down to 75 after 18 months and I just had my new test done and my GGT level went back up to 144. I haven't had a drink in 2 years today which is the anniversary. I'm

Which DSNS to use--fastest or slowest?
Months ago, I had a flare and raised my pred to 12.5. I stayed at 12.5 for weeks because of some cataract surgery I was going through. Finally, based on the good advice I got here, I tapered from 12.5 to 10 using the DSNS 38-day taper. At the very end of my taper, I suddenly had the return of a bad case

Onc appointment
Had my latest appointment yesterday. I've been taking Letrazole for 3 months. Unfortunately, though some tumours are stable, others have grown a little, which is disappointing. The onc suggested I could try it for another 3 months, or go back on weekly Taxol, which I had about 4 years ago. At the moment
