Daughter Diagnosed with ADHD, any tips/stories with similar situations are welcomed?!
My 6 year old Daughter just got diagnosed with ADHD(combined type). She doesn't have any behavior issues, she's a sweet, well mannered little girl. She does have trouble focusing at school, at home she does a little better as she is an only child but I cant say I struggle with her AT ALL. I'm very hesitant

Scared..I think
I'm a 39 year old woman on the verge of divorce. I've changed in the past several years and I hate who I've become. I'm about to sabotage the only marriage I never knew I wanted and I don't know how to salvage it. I don't even know if I still love him or just afraid of being without him. I used to be

Anxiety meds with ADHD
I'm finding that my anxiety is only improving a tiny bit on my adderall, and I'm wondering if a medicine specifically for anxiety would help. I cannot get to sleep because my brain is buzzing constantly, and every noise wakes me up. I've bitten my nails all but off, and I can't relax my nervous energy

Kid acts nutty at md office visits
I know this is part of her adhd and anxiety but this makes my anxiety go full throttle. My 11 y.o will need to have a tooth removed because it's not coming out on it's own and causing some issues. She went berserk at the thought of having it removed and she would seriously have to be sedated (can they

Things have got to change
Hello. Let me start by saying this is the first time I've ever tried to level with others on a forum of any kind. Not that I'm against reaching out but I've always had a hard time asking for help/guidance. But the writing is on the wall and in my case whatever I'm doing now is not enough. So here it

Refusal to complete schoolwork. Help?
I'm new here and am desperate need for support. My 7 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD last year. He is currently taking Focalin XR 10mg and Escalitopran 5mg (for anxiety). At home, with friends, and family, he is a pleasant, sweet, smart, inquisitive child, and listens to adults. At school, it's

Newly diagnosed 26 year old mother
So I'm pretty shocked to be on this page. For years I have battled anxiety, depression, impulsivity, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. I've been to 5+ counselors and 4 GPs, and no one could really get to the bottom of what was going on with me. I got married two years ago, and had a son under a year

ADHD Medication Trial
Hi all. Our 8 year old was diagnosed last August, and we're trialing medications. Would love some feedback from others about experiences with irritability (seems to be a side effect we're experiencing), and thoughts on ritalin vs adderall (and extended vs. immediate release). Currently he's taking 10

Hi guys!
I was just diagnosed with ADHD in January. I’m 35 and attempting college again after failing out twice before. I’m set to graduate next semester, assuming nothing goes horribly wrong. 👍 I’m currently on a rather low dose of Adderall, and it works pretty well ... when I remember to take it. My school

Newbee parent of 11 y/o boy w/ Adhd combined type
Hi all! I am a single parent of an 11 year old boy with ADHD combined type. He currently takes 25mg of Focalin XR every morning. I would appreciate advice on what other parents are doing regarding problematic home behaviors. Within the last month he started pulling out his hair on his head and eyebrows

Dose Increase Titration by How Much?
So had my recent labs, feel more hypo after quitting smoking. Here are my previous results, in order, on 75mcg, and 88mcg and the recent one on *100mcg Synthroid where I was off cigarettes for 18 days. I wish I had done labs on 100mcg before quitting smoking but oh well, this much will have to suffice

The Medication Game
My son was diagnosed with ADHD about 8 months ago. Since than we have been trying to find medication that can help him. He's currently on Intuniv and that helps his hyperactivity. However, to help him at school we tried Focalin, Adderall and Vyvance with varying dosage. On all three he became extremely

Never diagnosed
So my 10 year old son is having trouble focusing. Years ago some teachers said he had ADD but that since he was doing so well in classes that we would not worry about taking action (diagnosing). They did put something about ADD in his chart though. He does just recently complain about focus problems

40-Year-Old Who Tried Adderall, and Felt Horrible at 5MG!
Hi there, I love reading everyone's posts on this forum. I'm 40 and have recently been diagnosed with ADHD by a Psychiatrist. I am an educated woman, but have struggled in school and relationships my whole life, and have always felt it to be difficult to "contain" myself. I'm a substitute teacher

ADHD at 50
Hi, I am new here. I think I've been ADHD all my life but was only diagnosed last year. I thought the world operates with similar lens through which I see and feel life (I learned that's not the case). I am 50 y.o. and started taking 10 mg adderall daily last year although doctor says I can increase

ADHD meds stop working?
My daughter has been on
Adderall
20mg
xr
for few months and they have worked great. All of a sudden she has been extra aggitated lately. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It's been since she had the flu and the meds seem to be too much.

New here and not sure which way to go
Hi! My 8 yr old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, mild dyslexia and anxiety. The diagnosis was in place as of November 2017 but the school wanted to wait for her neurospysch eval instead of doing a Child Study team/IEP. Finally saw the neuropsych, got the report and they have quite a few recommendations

Focalin xr dosage change
We have now increased the dose to 30mg.. starting tomorrow. The lower dosages were doing absolutely nothing. I feel bad at times... I start to feel annoyed and upset when it's time for schoolboy be dismissed. It's like I have to hype myself up to deal with another evening of not listening, fighting
