Is muscle and joint pain after a month of starting acalabrutinib the cause of the acalabrutinib side effect or is it still the result of your body getting rid of white blood calls and causing higher uric acid causing gout in your muscles and joints?

The short answer is that all the BTKis have side effects of joint and muscle pain, Ibrutinib may have more and Acalabrutinib and Zanubrutinib may have less, but it is a common side effect.

The alternative you mention, the uric acid cause, is more like TLS (Tumor Lysis Syndrome) which is more likely to happen during a Venetoclax ramp up or in Rituxan or Obintuzumab treatments, and usually not seen with BTKs, since the Lymphocyte count decrease is much slower on BTKs. Allopurinol or Rasburicase are often used to lower the uric acid.
